UFC Debate: Is Alexandre Pantoja top 5 pound for pound?

Nothing lower than number 5 P4P for me. Can't put him above Topuria considering he beat both Volk and Max. But putting him below DDP, Merab and Aspinall is bonkers considering Pantoja is one of the most dominant current champions.

The only criticism I have with the criteria is the time span. I treat it as pre and post UFC246. It’s only a few months but the pandemic did shift the sport. The only change to the list… Jones should be 10 on the list as he’s only had 2 fights in 2 years since the lockdown.

I love this! But I disagree with giving extra credence to fighters who have done it across multiple divisions. I don't get why that's relevant to p4p discussions, because the whole point is "if weight wasn't a factor..." I did think it mattered when Volk lost to Islam and stayed above him in p4p, because if you put 10-20lbs on Volk, I think most agree he'd likely have won, which is the whole point of p4p rankings. I'd pay more attention to the dominance of victory. Most obvious that stand out are Pereira and Aspinall. Tom's barely broken a sweat in a fight yet, and Alex has made all his wins look pretty easy.
