I agree with DC. I don't think Khamzat was exposed. I feel he deserves more respect. Being 11th and beating the 3rd best in the division speaks for itself. I love Gilbert too. But I think people are underestimating Khamzat after this fight.

If anything Khamzat proved he is on another level. Burns makes the other people he has beat look like novices. If anyone in the top 10 would have beat Burns in that same fight they would be getting praised. Its the fans fault for building him up to be some sort of Demi God. We made it to were he can't win no matter what he does. We all wanted him to be that guy we see in movies that never gets touched and always dominates but sadly that's not how the real world works. People were unrealistic and ill be honest I was in the hype to. In my opinion Khamzat proved he is a special fighter to be able to go in with such a drastic jump in opponent and win. I don't think the fight exposed a weakness in Khamzat we just saw the greatest in Gilbert a fighter I never payed too much attention to him now a favorite of mine. We just hope it gave Khamzat good healthy mental breaks to improve his game. By breaks I mean timing to make everything he does as a chess move to get to the next move when to steal base and when to go for the home run. It's just a Matter of experience. And for a person without the experience that people that have come close to what hes doing hes doing just fine. He just needs to turn on the humility turn down the cursing and keep the confidence down and within just a little he'll be the next best. They doubted others they e been proven wrong. I'm not saying hes unbeatable Hes as exciting as Conner and Tough as anyone. He will definitely end up amongst the greats. No doubt only time can tell.

Khamzat is a badass, Burns couldn't finish WB, he had the control but his jits failed him, khamzat dropped him and went into his guard but Burns didn't use his jits, he was striking from the bottom like he never got dropped, must be some of that Sanford mma special sauce, too bad the sauce failed him. Khamzat is just too tough for all the sauce in the world.

Unless there is another fighter in the history of the UFC that came in as dominate and managed to banged out a win while fighting reckless over top 3 ranked fighter by his 5th fight, the hype isn't even hype at this point. He took down Burns easier than I've seen Colby take anyone down, and that literally all Colby does to people. And Colby doesn't want any smoke with Burns....

He proved himself but also got exposed. What he proved BY FAR outweighs what got exposed. That is as long as he is honest with himself and makes some big changes in pacing himself for championship fights in a divison who's top fighters arguably have the biggest gas tank and hardest pace in the game. The second and only other exposure was his defensive boxing. 0 head movement and 0 foot movement. If he doesn't correct both of those problems his night out with Colby isn't going to end well may actually end with TKO in one of the championship rounds. If he gets a crack at Usman and doesn't at least correct his fundamental boxing skills then I see him having a very good chance of seeing the shadow Realm like Masvidal. Possibly even worse. Leon Edwards is the only favorable matchup for him. Which I see him winning pretty handedly if he stuck to a straight wrestling based game plan. I also see him possibly getting a lucky punchers chance knockout against Leon if he is stupid enough to box with him. Whatever happens his next fight I see a loss in his near future. In my opinion though that loss is going to benefit him way more than hurt him. He is hungrier than 90% of the roster and suffering a loss in unarmed combat is Child's Play compared to the situations he has lived through as a child when armed combat was literally all around you. Living in that environment will turn a young man into a wise man or a dead man way before his time. He is still alive so I rest my case.

Fighters are some of the most bias either for or against each other....the commentary alone proves that...the bottom line is Khamzat is doing everything right and needs to learn and grow and get experienced more..all hes doing is believing in himself and calling ppl out...and that's why ppl are saying he got exposed...exposed for what?literally being elite already with only a few years in mma? Even if he loses to Usman or colby...which guy has come this far this soon apart from conor? And he almost retired due to covid...you dont see a number 15 guy go from 15 to 3 in a matter of months....hes proven himself more than hes gotten exposed

I feel like this is like Francis in a way when he fought stipe and lost he came back and became the heavyweight champ not saying khamzat is going to be the champion not saying he won’t but he will learn from this and becomes much bigger threat to everyone in the division y’all saying he got exposed ok but he kept fighting never got knocked out to put this into prospective he was rank 11 and went up against the 2nd contender and beat him and y’all can’t give him any credit he never fought anybody in the top 10 before and he beat the 2nd guy well 3rd but still he know nows his weaknesses and his strengths against high ranked opponents every body needs a challenge to get better but just because he didn’t knock him out I. The first round y’all are saying he isn’t nothing and the hype train is gone man y’all are lost completely and obviously have never been in a fight not talking about street fights either those are sloppy im talking about organized fights everyone can be a good street fighter but not everyone can be in a organization as big as the ufc but yea when he returns your going to see a whole different person

A 27 year old 11 ranked fighter should not have given an experienced #2 ranked veteran like Burns that hard of a fight. With just a little more polishing in his stand up and striking defense and a bit better conditioning Khamzat will truly be unstoppable. In his next fight against Muhammed or Colby he will bury either one.

3 factors that didn't look as good as it should have been , 1 it was month of fasting he was weaker point of the hour, 2 cutting weight severally weaken the body and 3rd the most important one that Usman helped prepare Gilbert which made Gilbert look awesome in defense and offence. But the next fight with Colby will be different ballgame.
