Honestly, I've always felt Max is a pretty difficult matchup for Ilia. I've followed Ilia's UFC career and even saw his documentary. I've been thinking Ilia's best chance at beating Max is to grapple, but Max has a solid BJJ game too so it wouldn't be as easy on the ground for Ilia as some think. Also, Max is hard to take down. Ilia is very questionable. His only significant win is against Volk who i dont feel was fully recovered from getting KO'd 4 months prior. If Bryce Mitchell was able to land combinations on Ilia, that says a lot. Not to mention Ilia got rocked agajnst Jai Herbert, who isnt really known to be high level in the UFC. Aside from Volk, no one has been able to beat this Max at 145 since he became champ. Also, people forget how close Max's fights with Volk were aside from the 3rd. It'll be a great matchup. But I'm taking Holloway. Better footwork will be the difference
