UFC on FOX's Nate Diaz on Thomson Fight, GSP's Weigh-In Allowance + Fighting on 4/20

MMA H.E.A.T.'s Karyn Bryant talks with lightweight Nate Diaz about his upcoming bout with Josh Thomson, set to take place at UFC on FOX 7: Henderson vs Melendez on April 20, 2013. Nate talks about the lessons he learned after fighting champ Benson Henderson, the challenges Josh presents and the benefit of training with Gilbert Melendez, who has beaten Josh twice. He also talks about the video that surfaced concerning the weight allowance champ GSP was apparently given when he fought his brother Nick, his option to fight as a welterweight and the coincidence that he is fighting on 4/20.

The thing is, once you lose several fights at your nomal weight class, you can either drop down to a lower weight class or you can move up to a higher weight class if not, you run the risk of getting cut.

Yeah first thing I looked at his eyelids, I thought "Damn, must be a grueling weight cut". I saw the same with Chael Sonnen when he just got too heavy from the TRT, having to cut down like 35-40 pounds. It's freaking insane.

Quick Point: I'm a martial arts fan. MMA gives me a peek at certain moves and techiques, which I really love. I used to like the Diaz bros because they displayed great boxing & BJJ skills, but they have NO CLASS when it comes to talkin' ish! If they get frustrated in the octagon, they taunt... If they win, they brag... if they lose, it's non-stop excuses (more Nick than Nate). It's embarrasing and sad. Gloves up, fight with heart and win or lose... walk away with honor.
