Bisping said to Marc; "We could sit here and go over some funny old stories, but no one's interested in that...". Absolutely not true! Pretty sure everyone would love to hear the stories about the wild west of early UK MMA. Sounds bonkers. Great conversation, fellas. You always learn something when Marc's talking about MMA.

He started one with Dan Hardy on the Dan Hardy/Full Reptile channel called "Listen!", but they only did a few episodes. They did it after the Usman/Covington fight when Colby was calling Marc a corrupt cheat, so Marc wanted to set the record straight. He's reffing events every week so probably doesn't have time...

This is perhaps the most professional, most informative and interesting interview that Bisping has ever treated us to. Its Mike's restraint that allowed Marc to dispense his wisdom: "Be a good person, don't waste time proving it" and Marc's genuinely wide-eyed delight at remembering what shall henceforth be called "the jeans incident." +1 to all the comments that we want to know more about the early days of British MMA. In fact, please mention to Marc that as a former exec at Netflix, I believe you don't have a book in you, have have a television show.

Goddard kind of glossed over what happened with what happened in the Marab vs. O'Malley fight. Tim Welsh was yelling, "Go, Marab go," telling him to go for it against O'Malley, which would get him caught with a punch going in.

21:30 how about not letting a fighter get a piece of glass out their toe. Instead you forced them to engage and ended the fight because they both agreed not to so he could get the shard of glass out of his foot that was not his fault. Hard zig.

not having it with what he's talking about judges and refs, actually such a cop out to pretend that it's simply a case of the rules having too much depth for average fight fans to understand. the inconsistencies when it comes to judges/refs are undeniable at this point and almost every week something happens, yet they are never held accountable or made to explain their decisions. very archaic element of the sport.
@ethnicalbert13 сағат бұрын
If you enforce the rules too hard you get ridiculous outcomes devoid of common sense. If you don’t enforce them enough you get ridiculous outcomes devoid of consistency. It’s a tough balance to hit but I’m sure it can be better than it is now

No hate because he was just passionate about making his point - but Mike was looking at his phone during Marc's best point on the judging/0.5 point thing. If you only measure with a ruler that measures in inches, when you could split it into centimeters or millimeters you're going to measure less accurately. The idea of half-points sounds great.
