The reason is that, at some point, Bill started to get taken in by the public image that he'd created during the height of Shitlibs vs Neocons. He DESPERATELY wants to portray himself as "not your average Hollywood douchebag", but a snarky, clever, and intrepid interlocutor who can smell bullshit a mile away, no matter "which side" presents it...that he's a "straight-shooter" who doesn't care what someone believes, as long as they aren't full of shit, whether it is bad logic or ideological insanity. ...but that only makes it WORSE when he does such EGREGIOUS bad faith shit like pretending that it's "obvious" that there was Russian collusion, or that Trump is a tyrant, or that the DoJ WASN'T weaponized. Bill Maher needs to learn one very important lesson. He refers to the 'left wing types' HOWEVER, he has this completely wrong. It is not the 'left wing types' at all. It's the 'establishment and deep state types' that consist of both left and right / Democrats and Republicans. Once he and others begin to understand this, there will be far less division between people, which ironically is EXACTLY what the 'establishment and deep state types' want. Divide and conquer. Let's beat their bullshit and unite. Left, right, doesn't matter. What matters is right and wrong and the establishment and deep state are wrong. When people on the left begin to understand that Trump is not right wing, he's right (not wrong) wing, we the people will win this war. Amen.

Bill isn’t smart enough to debate Mat? I think this was just a soft ball convo. Bill was barely responsive.

@@joannefaille920 Yeah sure. The guy who brought in notes was barely responsive. Convenient excuse.

Wow! The best show Bill has ever had! I could watch a 10 show series with these two guys just talking with each other. I thought this guy was some sleezy politician through watching the media. Instead, after watching this, he could be my best friend. please for the country, keep this conversation going!!!!!!

Agree, once Bill relaxed, the chemistry was great. The conversation was extremely interesting . To top it off, Matt matched him drink for drink.

Politically Incorrect was better. Bill's head was a bit smaller and it was more fun. How sad that Bill's insulted by an opinion and preferring one of the shows he hosted over another. He has a big ego that's easily bruised.

Ex Muslim Iranians will tell you Democrats literally not just flirt with dictators, they FUND them. Look at Hamas, Ali Khamenei, and other Islamic and marxist dictators. America is still the best nation on Earth, dont get me wrong but you need to talk to people like Armin Navabi at atheist republic to stay liberal.

19:53 Suddenly Bill is no longer interested in this topic. What a hack.

I could have listened to this convo for hours. As a general conservative, with liberal social tendancies, ive enjoyed watching Bill get comfortable with his guests, yes theres some contention at times but he continues to show how democrats used to be, and should still be. Great watch, will be looking forward to the two of them sitting down for another podcast!

@BarleyMonster7 күн бұрын
@@justinh.6683no I think he meant before democrats developed a stick up their ass. As a lifelong democrat I couldn’t agree more. It’s why we’ve lost a lot of democrats to MAGA. We use to be the party of common sense and now we’re the party who polices free speech and the party of cancel culture. Good luck winning elections with that.

I've always loathed Matt and although I don't love him now, I do loathe him less...maybe even like him a little bit moreas a person. Kudos to Bill for having him for a legit conversation and not pulling any punches while still just having a talk. And respect to Matt for doing it and rolling with it.

@troothcentral-qz9pz Didn't say I like him now. But never would've suspected him as an animal lover or someone who could hang out with AOC/Omar. Also like Bill didn't think he was too bright. I stereotyped him too much
