OG fans remember jons first few UFC fights where no matter how loud the crowd was or how loud the commentary was you'd always hear Jon's mother in the crowd yelling "JONNY!!!" "JONNY", "GET EM JONNY!!" I used to get chills hearing her in the crowd. RIP Mrs. Jones! Then vacate the heavyweight belt, and then fight whoever you want. He has held up the heavyweight division for too long, with his inconsistency. He is quite literally, the heavyweight champion, and he is ACTIVELY avoiding the number 1 ranked contender in Tom Aspinall. What do you not understand? Everyone is up in arms over Jon because he HAS the belt. Once he stops holding up the entire division, everyone will stop talking about his avoiding and will look forward to whoever else he fights. The money, quite literally, does NOT matter in this scenario. The champion and the interim champion need to be unified in the next fight. If not, Jon needs to just hang up the heavyweight belt. As Islam Makhachev said, " 'What does this title represent? It means you're the best in the world and if you're the best in the world, it doesn't matter who's going to be standing across from you. What do I say? No? NEVER. Let's do this!' "

@ he just fought Stipe let him enjoy his win and heal up before you throw another younger lion at him. It doesn’t matter who he beats there is always going to be that next shiny new guy that wants to test himself. So calm yourself down the fight will happen or Jon will vacate but he doesn’t need to answer to your demands right now 😀 I think he has earned that right. Beating 4 generations of fighters.

Everyone who’s criticizing Jon jones for beating an older Stipe, while simultaneously refusing to acknowledge the fact that Jon himself is 37 years old, has almost 20 years of fighting experience, just recently sustained a severe pectoral tear and has been inactive, are tacitly admitting that Jon should be held to a higher standard above everyone else.

@ where did I say people are denying that fact? I said they are refusing to acknowledge it, particularly in discussions involving his win over Stipe and a potential fight against Tom Aspinall. He’s old, he’s been fighting forever, and recently sustained a terrible injury. Given all of this context his performance this past weekend was nothing short of amazing and he doesn’t owe Tom Aspinall a title fight. GOAT! I think he dropped Vitor with that same kick but it was the liver. It's crazy that the greatest of all time never got his super fight. Conor got Floyd. DC was going to get Brock after not even doing a 1/4 of what Jon did, Volk got Islam twice, Bisping got GSP and even Max got Gaethje. The last one might not be on that level but close enough.
