I think Volk is the best in terms of quality of opponents and on account of beating Jose twice, but Aldo’s crazy longevity make it very close. Regardless, Aldo has some of the slickest boxing and muy thai ever in the UFC and is definitely one of my favourite fighters ever.

I agree with you, but all the "casuals" know is, Aldo didn't want the rematch with Connor, and that's why he doesn't get any respect from the casuals, or the powers that be in the UFC. Connor vs Aldo 2 would have been one of the biggest PPV of all time, but he didn't want it, which pissed off the UFC brass, and it's why they have basically, erased him.

I dunno about that. Depends on the criteria we use to determine the goat. It can't be just title defences alone. You gotta look at the level of competition he fought (not the best), longevity too (not great) and the fact that he lost badly to Mcgregor and Holloway (x2) by knockout who some consider to be fw goats as well. I don't think it's ridiculous at all.
