Belal is now 35+ and has put on too much muscles. That means while wrestling, he'd be a stronger grinder, like Usman (though not as big, tall, or strong), in the stand-up, extra muscles will restrict his movements. Both have improved since this first fight, 3 plus years ago; but, again, whereas Leon is at the very top of his prime, at 32+ ----- Belal, at 35, (like Usman & Colby before him).... is on the plateauing and down hill side of his career. The only 35+ guy at 170 who won a championship (i.e. who retained his belt) against a younger opponent was, I think, Woodley; and it was against a rather one-dimensional Darren Till who was just not ready for prime time, in his late 20s. With that single exception --- as well as the fight in which BOTH guys were over 35, also at 170, I htink ---- there's been no skilled, prime guy not winning against a 35+, from 170 to 125, on the men's side, at the UFC. In short, there are a few things going against Belal, even if you think he's a rugged, determined, and skilled guy.

I just noticed the way the eye poke happens is just the same move Usman’s being put out by Leon..the difference is that Belal close the distance when Leon throws the kick with his hand towards Belal which makes the possible head kick into a body shot while Usman was a bit further which allows the head kick to landed properly.
