Fishing Lake Powell, Spring Striper Action(Early April), Day Two, Utah

Day Two of fishing on Lake Powell finds me right back in the Striper! Casting and trolling, I find quick action. I move to trolling deeper water where the action slows but when I do connect it is with larger Striper, so worth the wait! Eventually I have to make my way back, the long ride to Wahweap, but I stop and fish spots on the way and manage to get my first Lake Powell Largie of 2022! Two days of excellent fishing and weather in early Spring...awesome to be back on Lake Powell!

Love lake Powell! Had 2 great trips there One as a teenager with my family catching a bunch of stripers from shore near the dam The other in my 20’s with a bunch of friends on a house boat. Great channel! Celebrating Life 🍻🍻

Rock, still can’t believe you don’t have a trolling motor lol. And when you pull the boat up for the night tie each back end to the shore as well so you have three points, never had an issue. @@DungeeFishing I heard the ramp at Bullfrog is being rebuilt and is scheduled to be completed by end of May? There are only two lanes open (or were open) at the Stateline Aux Ramp currently..can only imagine what the lines will look like once it warms up.

Amazing video, it is literally a dream of mine to be able to go and fish that lake. I’m from Chicago Illinois and I’m just fascinated with that entire region over there. It would be absolutely incredible to be able to fish lake Powell especially with how low it is right now I can imagine how great the fishing is. Thank you for the video amazing quality and great editing, great fish as well! Keep on making them please!

I figured I was around eighty miles back from launch...give or take. Bring some gas, Dangling Rope is shut down.

Larry, Try going to Fred's Liquor or Fred's Guide to Lake Powell website has good maps and descriptions of the canyons and miles. We're headed down the 18 also will be in a maroon hard top Weldcraft.

I think you said you’re in the San Juan arm, that’s a looooong ride back to wahweap! Probably 3-4 hours with that little 40 horse isn’t it? Did you see any other boats on this trip at all?

No boats back in the San Juan, just me and the fishes. Plenty of boats near Wahweap. Looong ride back...
