Hello sir, thanks for making this vid. I was about to change the thermal paste but i'm afraid to dissassembly the fan part, so i just cleaning the dust every three months. Now it's getting 10 months since i got my laptop and i wanna change my thermal paste. It's not overheat though but my laptop needs a maintenance cleans and for a good long-term function. Once again thank you sir, i appreciate the vid👍👍

🫠Regarding your question, if you have cleaned the fan and the heatsink without lifting the heatsink, and you have temperatures under 85°C when gaming, then you don't need to repaste. If you have high temps (over 90°C) when gaming, then you will need to repaste. Don't repaste if your temps are okay-just stick to regular fan and heatsink cleaning. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

@@uFixTek oh, is that so? I don't need to repaste it then, yes? My laptop never have temps over 80°C because i have an air conditioner in my room and when i bring outside its just only get 60-70°C average gaming, but 50-60°C when do normal task like office and programing thing. The weather kinda hot in my country too. I just wanna do thing with my own and someone said to repaste every 6 months. it's not necessary, right? But when i need to, Is there an efficient way like a pattern for repaste? Or i just smear the paste all over?

Anyone who says you should repaste every 6 months can go **** themselves. 🫠 You do not need to repaste until the temps are over 85°C under stress (load). Temps between 50-60°C are still okay. The service time depends on user usage and the environment (like how dusty the place is). If you want to know how often you need to repaste, here's what you should do: 1. Do the first repaste with good thermal paste and note the date. 2. Use the laptop as you regularly would. 3. Make a note of the temperatures of the GPU and CPU on the first day of service. 4. After 8 months, check the temperatures of the GPU/CPU. If they are reasonable (under 85°C for the GPU under load), then extend the interval until you see the GPU reaching 85°C under load. 5. Then, open the laptop, do a cleaning, and check how clogged up the fan is and how dry the thermal paste is. Based on your observation, decide if you want to extend the interval to 12 months or adjust it accordingly. There is no exact timeframe for servicing a laptop, so don’t let anyone fool you.

Hello, Ants have apparently have eaten through some of my thermal pads. I am afraid this will affect my thermals as well, I have a llano cooling pad. Should I replace the paste and pads now?
@uFixTek
@uFixTek 17 күн бұрын
🫠Regarding your question, never use paste where there are thermal pads, you will have a bad day and reduce the life span of board. just get .5mm and 1mm pads and cut to replace them. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

Thank you so much for making this video as I was un-able to find any other video related to this topic and even if i found them they only re-applied the thermal paste and didn't clean the fans or the heatsinks of the laptop. Also I would like to ask you if the Gaffers Tape has any function here, like if I removed them and didn't apply the new ones on the fans would it affect the laptop in any way ?

It's my pleasure, my friend. 😊 I deeply appreciate your taking the time to provide feedback. If you're inclined to support the channel further, feel free to like and subscribe-or even both! Regarding your question, There is absolutely no need to place the gaffer's tape; it will not affect the performance or improve cooling. We have tested it, and the results are the same. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

Thank you so much for this, my temps don't even do above 65°c but I have cats, two of them and I'm sure there is cat hair inside the fans, can I just open it and clean the fans without removing anything else? Or should I atleast disconnect the battery? I got this laptop like 3 months ago.

It's my pleasure my friend. 🫠Regarding your question, open the laptop and disconnect the battery and disconnec the fan cables and then clean the fans, without lifting up the heatsink. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

It's my pleasure my friend. 🫠Regarding your question, I would highly recommend getting a new fan from AliExpress as they are not expensive. The fan is installed with pressure, and if you pull it out with force, there's a 50% chance of breaking it. Even if you manage to reattach the fins, it will be unbalanced once placed back, causing it to vibrate horribly. cheers🍻

Hey there, you have mentioned the thickness of all pads but could you please write it here in detail for everyone to see and just to be sure I understand you correctly, in both parts we need to use 0.5mm and 3mm, not 1mm not 2mm etc? And how much of a difference does it make if I have used 2mm and 1mm 😅?

If you could also by any chance provide dimensions of all of these pads that would be even better but I understand that it should just cover the parts. Also to anyone wondering, original paste is basically a super thin pad from brand Honeywell. I wonder what would be the best or at least better brand of pads than original ones. Also would you say RAM size (thickness) of pads matters?
@uFixTek
@uFixTek 28 күн бұрын
🫠Regarding your question, get a 0.5mm sheet and a 3mm sheet. - VRAMs: 0.5mm - Power coils: 0.5mm - Power regulator: 3mm Honeywell pads are very hard to find in original form due to many fakes; just get Thermal Grizzly, and you’ll be more than fine. The pads should be replaced every 6-7 years. cheers🍻

Would you say reapplying the paste is a must as soon as u get it? Or is the coating good enough to not warrant reapplying? BTW, very nice vid!

It's my pleasure my friend, i appreciate your support. 🫠Regarding your question, if your laptop is new, do not touch it for the first 6 months of heavy use. After 6-7 months, check the temperatures and see if they have increased from the day you purchased it. If they have, you may want to reapply thermal paste with a good quality product. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

how to reset my bios with help of cmos battery?
@uFixTek
@uFixTek 22 күн бұрын
🫠Regarding your question, you will need to disconnect the main battery and then disconnect the BIOS battery (located under the WiFi board). Then, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. This will reset your BIOS configuration to default. Note: The BIOS itself will not reset this way, as it is written on another chip. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻
