The margin on TVs is very small. Apple would have to produce a tv like Sony like the A95L. Then they would have to buy their panels from Samsung. What Apple should do is try to make a tv with tandem OLED like the new iPads. But the cost is going to be insane. Apple would probably charge like $5k for a 55” tandem OLED display. Yes it will look amazing, but who wants to spend that much on a tv when u can get a 98” for under $2k. The majority of people can tell the difference between tvs or don’t care. Think about how many people purchased the Vision? Not many. Not sure if they even still sell it, they sure as heck don’t talk about it.

In my opinion, it would be fascinating if Apple developed a television that combines the features of a TV, an Apple TV box, and an iMac. Alternatively, at the very least, they could create a TV with the capabilities of an Apple TV box and a Studio Display-but perhaps in a 60+ inch version. This way, you could have a proper television and a high-quality monitor all in one.

Apple already has partnerships with both LG and Samsung, pick either of their OLED panels, put it in aluminum unibody that looks like the Pro Display XDR, with the bonus of enhanced cooling to fight burn in, put an Apple TV 4K in it and I’ll buy two of them.

I think the quality would be amazing but, for instance, i've had my current TV for over 7 years. The technology moves on more quickly than that. Will they make it modular so new tech can be put in? Otherwise why would you stay with the same chips in your TV when you wouldn't do that for an ipad, iphone, and even your macbook? And why would you want a smart hub when you can move your ipad literally anywhere on your property and most if not all of the functions are always in your pocket with your iphone?

I would buy one. We currently use an M1 iMac in our living room for family movie nights. I just have never wanted to ruin the vibe of our cozy little living room with a big black plastic square and the iMac is the first thing that's felt like it fits in there. We have also juggled the idea of a Samsung Frame but I haven't had the best luck with my Samsung home products.

I doubt Apple would charge more for their TVs than what OLED TVs cost currently since they are already priced as premium products and Apple usually offers reasonable pricing compared to other premium products

I think a actual tv is necessary the box is great but with it being an actual tv this could allow users to use things such as an Xbox or Nintendo switch with an Apple TV which you can’t use with today so would definitely be great for gamers. If this does happen it will probably have some sort of display adjustment mode similar to with the Vision Pro where you can go for a more cinematic look or for gaming and etc. and could also allow people to use other speakers besides HomePods and could work easily with a professional sound system so this product could hit massively for people and Apple should definitely do it if they don’t they will miss out on the biggest product they could make. This could also change the way for the top box that instead as just using it as your main tv box instead people can use it for when traveling since cabins or hotels won’t have them so I hope they fully commit to doing it.

I think you should think about rebranding the channel. I recommend it to many and there all say what is a "Mac". I guess most do not know about the McIntosh these days. Plus been watching pretty much every video you put out (except the software beta stuff....) and you could/should do some vids on your website. hands down the best "Mac" buying guide stuff out there. I never buy an apple product without checking your website. Have other ideas and I'm not even a marketing guy (ie weekly apple update, video calendar of upcoming launches, software roll-outs, product news, etc.. My channel is on the verge of exploding and yours can too :)

I think that those that don't associate a Mac with Apple are either very young, and naive, very ignorant or are simply uninterested in computers. Every Apple computer has a 'mac' somewhere in its name and to find those computers on their website, you have to click on the 'Mac' at the top. Until such time that the name 'Mac' is dropped by Apple itself, I honestly don't see any need whatsoever for this channel to rebrand or rename.

@ I agree on the computers but Apple makes the IPAD, watch, phones and headphones plus a hug amt of revenue come from services all of which do not have Mac in them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they phase out Mac naming one day and this guy is left as a dinosaur of a channel name which is probably already happening. A fast google search shows Apple, 2023 revenues of Mac products at only 7 %

When one has Soundbars or Speakers, I wouldn't mind a TV that's thicker as long as it's truly functional, after all, the real estate dedicated to a TV is already determined. If a TV has great speakers and I do mean GREAT, and has the black box integrated, I wouldn't mind if a TV is as thick as a Sonos Arc. Many people don't have a movie database, I have about 2000 movies in my server and I love to stream from my server to my TV's so the section that says "MyComputer" - "Library" is a Godsend when there's no internet or the movie I want to watch is not available.

I am not optimistic on a TV. Apple sell hardware at 1.5 X of other manufacturers. Most of the products are worth it due to the OS or other value added Apple products. But it would take a lot to get most people to buy a TV rather than use the AppleTV app on a Samsung.

I love Apple but it can barely corner a sizable market for the AppleTV box which is superior to others. So, why would they think they could do better with an actual expensive tv?!?! It will be another Apple Vision Pro. They could literally do all of this with a beefed-up new AppleTV box with camera connectivity and a crazy M chip!

Don’t have an interest in Apple doing an actual telly, I don’t think they could do anything interesting and it would probably be too much like sky’s glass TV, I’m just happy with the normal set up box. Having Apple do something like the nest hub or echo show I’d like to see it just to show some form of uniformity offerings between Apple, Amazon and Google.

I can't see any harm in Apple introducing a television of their own creation, but to be honest, I'm not sure whether it would sell in enough volume to be worth it. If it is priced competitively and is of an outstanding design with unique features, it stands a good chance of course. However, when Apple sell a stand for their pro monitors at an exorbitant price, I strongly suspect that any TV they create will come with a premium price. Quality these days does of course come at a price and that is fair enough, but I'm not sure that consumers will be willing to purchase an Apple TV instead of a unit by the usual suspects in the market place. The reality is that the majority of Apple users do not take full advantage of what their iPhone, iPad or Mac can do as it is and if the purpose is to well, watch TV, then quite frankly anything will do. As for the hub thingy, don't need it. I haven't got a single IoT device in my home and quite frankly, haven't seen anything that I want let alone need. I think it will be a product for very specific geographical markets and certain demographics within those markets.

I was hoping for the hub years ago! I can understand cities and governments being snail speed, but Apple shouldn’t be! They are even on the verge of being glacial! With such delay they are missing the windows when people would have jumped. The car, bus and the TV effort years ago. And sadly this is not even a big jump technically! Taking the iPad we have today and reconfiguring it into a wall mountable hub or offer a desk version with a constant display or at least when it senses someone (even knowing who). The. We have the perimeter sensors within the home doors, windows and external views. Just look at the market for home security having full integration as well as your home devices inside I can see this being very cool and useful! Then we could add in an AppleWatch into the mix so the persons location within the home is known which might be very useful for our growing age of population. Just think how a son or daughter could keep an eye on ones parents without hovering over them, only knowing they are milling about and if they have a heath crisis the watch can even tell a local caretaker to check-in or send EMT service to the home.

Apple need a soundbar they have the pedigree blueprint and the full home[pods as surrounds Apple TV for audio codec also the have the experience technology with mesh routers they will give Sonos a run for its $ all they missing is a soundbar and sub and just go full on the Home and living room market a feel is wide open for them for years to make a big impact but instead they just keep it as not even a hobby so much potential and $ this is where I say Tim is a great manager but terrible visionary he has milked the hell out of what Steve Jobs left even on jobs biography where jobs stated about tv and the living room I cracked it I finally cracked it but we will never got to see them visions cause Tim is to busy satisfying the board and no knocked on him cause he has done great but that where it ends
