Thank you for this. Spent two years in Jackson TN. Memphis teams became a second home to me. NY Guardians have been gone since 2020 and until Nebraska gets a team, the showboats will always have a fan with me.

Great video. I live two hours from both Memphis and Birmingham so I can get on Interstate 22 and see the games live. The Boats have a great fan base in Memphis and a lot of people in the Mid-South still remember the original Showboats. Crowds actually picked up over the course of last season after the Grizzlies run ended. The Boats future is up in the air for next year and 2026 because the Liberty Bowl is getting a massive renovation including building a new soccer stadium next door. I hope they either work around the renovation and can play in Memphis or that they can move their home games to Ole Miss for the duration and keep the good momentum going.

They actually won the antitrust lawsuit but only got $1, which tripled to $3… not enough to keep the league afloat.

I was a huge fan of the 85 Showboats. I even met Reggie White, who came to my schools 6th grade awards ceremony. This brought back great memories, and i hope the 2024 Showboats make the playoffs. I think they can get a Tennis figures up if they do what they did in the past and get regional players who could not quite make it in the nfl. Watching Brady White play for them last year gave me more of a reason to pull for them
