Close protection refers to security measures taken to ensure the safety of individuals who may be at risk of harm due to their profession, status, or other specific circumstances. This specialized field involves trained professionals, often referred to as bodyguards or close protection officers, who employ a range of tactics and strategies to safeguard their clients from potential threats, including physical harm, kidnapping, or harassment. Their duties often encompass risk assessment, surveillance, escorting, and occasionally evasive driving, with an emphasis on discretion and minimizing disturbances to the client's daily life.
In the third episode of the series, Gerry from Triple Feed delves deep into the procedures and tactics associated with client movement on foot during close protection operations. The episode highlights the significance of muzzle discipline and footwork, emphasizing the protector's role as the first line of defense between a client and any threat. Detailed demonstrations explain the four primary shield steps and how to effectively position oneself with respect to the client to ensure their safety.

The emphasis on control and communication with your client cannot be overstated here. In any kind if Hugh pressure/hostile situation they can and will do the craziest of things. Or alternatively be completely oblivious! Communication often by using a first name change of tone or stern words will help them snap into a situation where they are listening ti simple words of command and directions

control trip and floor your client. grab the shoulder of your client, use your knee to bump the knee of your client from behind forward to make them loose balance and pull on shoulder backward to make them go down on their back in a soft fall while with the opposite hand you pull out your gun and either stand, drop on top of your client with your body covering your clients body, go down on your knees front of your client or lay down between your client and threat with gun always pointed at threat. "If you have to shoot as a body guard its because something went wrong or you did something wrong", that is what a hardcore professional special forces training body guard says on one of his training videos that I have.

I’m hoping there will be a video on how they brief and/or train clients on what to do in a threat situation. I’m also hoping to see what they do when a client panics and grabs the guard or tries to run in a dangerous direction.

Talking about muzle discipline but using apendix carry for the close protection? How do you want to help the client without flaging him with your pistol while evacuating from the scene or helping in case she got shot when you need both hands for the drills or to carry her? Please make some videos of drawing from apendix while siting in the car.

As others have asked, what's the point of stepping in front of the client? Somebody engaging you from a distance will just be happy to down the/a bodyguard, the one with the greatest chance of talking sense into a panicking client no less.

Typically called “plates on principle” if you have more than one operator you can body bunker the principle. If you only have one operator for security you’re typically in a pretty decent place and there is little chance this will happen. When you see the “special K” formation that’s when this is more likely. But the same principles are adhered to. The principle is what matters the most, the more plates on principle the better….and where is that damn driver?!

if your client is already in the line of fire, they might aswell fire back temselves. real protection is not even being in the vicinity of danger. anything else is risky.

Agreed. I saw a professional explaining bodyguarding and he says that if you find yourself having to fire or being fired upon then you did something wrong as a bodyguard... and as you say "being in the vicinity of danger" is definitely something wrong to do to begin with.
