North 100 to me is perfect constructed. Friendly atmosphere, diverse and cool format, generous rules enforcement with reasonable rewinds. The goal seems to be not to win but to play as good Magic as possible but without any backseat gaming. Chefs kiss!

I love this series. Truly wonderful. I would love to see the full deck lists that are going to be played and have a run down of the cards and why they are in the decks so during play I can try and figure out what each player is hoping to get and try and figure out the lines. Would be excellent if the deck overviews showed off the lines with graphics and the like, though I know the expense necessary to do such things. Doing so would make this series even more of the delicious tasting platter it is and when another Yellow Jacket tournament (please) is done the decks being played can be linked to the videos explaining them and we can root out the secret tech and spice players have brewed. Maybe I am just too excited for all the Canlander content. It might just be the best competitive format to watch.

Here is a little idea. How about you guys choose some decks you both like and make a small tournament to see wich deck comes out on top. Like, just play a bo3 at a time like you do now, but with a narative throughline of a tournament so people can root for a deck to go all the way.

They did that! Friday Night Paper Fights gave over a bunch of episodes over for awhile with a "Spring/Summer/Fall" season where scores were kept over the course of the season and no player swapped decks. Search for FNPF CanLander "seasons", the content is out there.

@dontpanic9772 2 жыл бұрын
@@blaketreleaven1993 I remeber those! I really liked them, but if I'm not wrong they where more about the players competing with each other and they would not always bring the same deck. I feel like the idea behind the showdown was more about showcasing the decks themselfs.

Man, love showdown, but these steamroll episodes end so abruptly lmao. One more round wouldn't hurt if a deck wins sub 25 mins, would make for better TV too since the losing deck would be given another chance to show itself off. That spell snare still makes this a 10/10 episode though, so good job lads

i do appreciate north 100 showdown a hell of a lot but it'd be nice if it adopted the rule from some recent pprs and fnpfs where if the bo3 runs fairly short it keeps going to a minimum time limit. it lets decks get shown off a lot better than when blowouts happen twice in a row off the top, and i think it'd fit the intent of the show better the shortest episode before today was 35 minutes, with others ranging from 40 to almost an hour; today's ep is seventeen minutes and it kind of blindsided me

So... an odd comment... because I'm not complaining about anything or anything... but I sorta wanna express something, while being too dumb to have the potential answers or any useful suggestions... I love the idea of this show. I like that it's showcasing brief presentations of ACTUAL play of just meta competitive decks... And so, with that in mind, I appreciate the speed of play and this is content for people deep in the weeds of investment... But then there is something about the presentation set up that feels like it was build for PPRs that supports presenting players who aren't playing AT that top level, and the current presentation doesn't support it... So in abstract, just sorta maybe making the suggestion that the overlay presentation needs a soft jiggle to keep up with the play pace of this show over previous LLR presentations? :S I mean, I have "ideas" about how you'd accomplish this, but they just sound like adding horrible visual noise to the presentation that I buck at that concept of suggesting them... But just, wanting to suggest that, if somebody has the time and head space to think about it, possibly worth the thought...? I don't want the game pace to slow down, I LOVE that LLR have A SHOW that show cases top-end (even if not "hyper competitive") magic games and what the pace and flow of the game looks like in "actual play", through a lens that gives the show its conceit... but yeah, just wish the presentation could in some way "keep pace" I do love this show as it currently exists. I'm not saying anything is wrong. Just something I keep thinking about the presentation vs pace of games over this series...

Request for future north 100 showdown videos. In the event of a 2-0 stomp, could you play additional games and skip to one where that shows the other deck getting on the board, as some of these are just 'Heres two interesting decks with a lot of thought put into them, and we're only going to show one of them beating the other up like a crying school child'

Love this content, but wish that there was a minimum amount of time to get more games if match is quick. Feels like the point is to see what decks can do, and the variance with flooding or bad beats can lead to short blowouts. Certainly part of the game and I love the series, but I guess I'm asking for more :-P

Something, something, Engagement. Something, something, Algorithm. But seriously though, I love Canlander content. It just scratches my itch. I love to see every card in Magic's history (aside from the problematic ones) played in the format. I love that there are no bannings and the points list keeps you from just seeing the Power 9 in every deck. The wild interactions you can see as a mater of normal play in the format are just entertaining to watch.

I think we’ve seen a dip in tempo power with the decline of dedicated combo and the rise of midrange in power. Tempo is still good but trading on pace feels less impactful when curves have been slashed so hard even on midrange.
