And then when Georgia beats TCU what will be your excuse outside of doing goofy-ass "football math" that benefits whatever your narrative is? Didn't TCU lose to Kansas State who was just blown out by Alabama? Didn't Alabama lose to Tennessee and LSU, two teams who Georgia beat up on? See how that works? None of it matters. I absolutely love how you dig into the finer points of the game Murf! One of the bigger things I kept thinking during the game, and also through some of the footage you called out, was Arian Smith being healthy again and being able to demonstrate how TOUGH of a football player he is, especially for a "track guy". It was one of the most glaring positives to his game when I first reviewed his HS footage years ago. Both the block and catch you called out showed great examples of my favorite part of that guy's game that he really hasn't had a chance to demonstrate because of health issues. Its one thing to be that fast, its another thing to be that fast _and_ be a straight football player, which I dont think many people realize how much so he actually is. P.S. - Ryan Day was in his BAG on Saturday and Stroud and Harrison played beyond their hype even(especially Stroud)

Trust me, there are a lot of teams that would have loved the prestige of playing in front of every household in America on New Years Eve: OSU is FAR from cursed. They proved they are still the cream of the crop and was a play away from moving on to having the chance to put it in writing officially. Talent wise OSU and UGA match up evenly. I looked at the data and I automatically had flashbacks of the 2012 SEC Championship and the OU vs. UGA Rose Bowl. OSU is going to get a title this coming year if they tighten up their defense. As a Georgia fan I have to give my due respects to OSU and Ryan Day. Georgia went into this one like they expected a quick win on their way to history and Ohio State made them pay for it. Got socked right in the jaw. Appreciate the content Murph. Georgia is for real and very talented, but you have to admit that OSU matched that talent even without JSN, Treveon Henderson, Miyan Williams (only 5 carries - still hurt), Chip Trayanum (3rd string RB), OSU's number one TE Cade Stover for most of the game, and the largest loss of all for this game, Marvin Harrison in the 4th quarter where OSU only scored 3 points. Defensively, Jim Knowles first year with his new system did not have his recruits. You could likely say that his saftey led defense had holes at the safety position that were magnified in OSU's last three games vs. Maryland, UM, and GA when they faced great offenses. Your first clip of Ransom spinning himself in the turf illustrates the point. All in all, Day's play calling was aggressive and it paid off, while Knowles calls with cover zero in the 4th quarter allowed GA to climb back into a game that OSU led for 58 minutes. I could make the case that OSU beat itself in this game. That said, GA and Kirby Smart have a machine humming in Athens for sure.
@TopBillinSports2 жыл бұрын
I don't see your point. Georgia was missing some key players as well (Nolan Smith, Granddaddy Washington, and Ladd McConkey, the best WR, was clearlt not over hus injury from the last game) and won the game playing Ohio State's way. It won a shootout, which most people think it wouldn't be able to do. OSU having success on Georgia through the air I said would more than likely happen, so what's the surprise? UGA beat downgraded teams by minimum points, because Kirby has always thought that getting the 3rd and 4th string players, quality reps. Because he is the master of NEXT MAN UP.

I'm with you about social media-- I can't hardly do it, especially during football season. Try being an Alabama fan living in Tuscaloosa and seeing what these people say during the games about Pete Golding and Bill O'Brien, SMH. I know some Georgia fans who do the same about Bennett, which I find so unbelievably absurd. I really believe they think every passing play is like back-yard football where the QB "sees someone open" after they break and THEN throws it to them. "Why do they let him get so wide open Cleetus?" "Who's he throwing it to Cleetus?" Should be a great NC game. I have no idea how it's going to go. Literally every game Saturday went somewhat different than I imagined they would. Great content again.

Whose pride? I didn't play in any game for my pride to be on the line, nor did my team play for my "fandom" to be on the line. Georgia played its worst game, by far, for the things I outlined that go beyond you being an internet commenter with nothing to do: Poor play-calling on both sides of the ball. Horrific schemes on defense, etc. Tennessee is easily as good as Ohio State on offense, and they played that game to perfection even without having to score 42 points.

Georgia didn't bring their A game is a joke. OSU was missing there starting RB and WR for the game. Lost there new #1 rec in the third, their #2 RB and #1 TE and still dropped 41 points and gave the game away on a bad kick
@TopBillinSports2 жыл бұрын
Yawn. All you did was mention offensive players. Ohio State dropping 41 and giving up 42 means what, ultimately? Excuses. Sit at home and think about defense for once in your life. Go back to the Big 12 and hang out with Texas Tech and those early Air Raid teams that didn't play defense.

Match ups are everything in college football. OSU runs an NFL offense. The GA DB's played poorly because they were playing against NFL receivers. Let's be honest. K. Ringo as a first rounder? Think he is going to have major problems covering dudes in the NFL and may be better in the slot.

Two plays of the game for me...Kirby's timeout on the fake punt and Bullard saving Ringo with his pass defense on Harrison. If he doesn't make that hit, looked like that would've been a touchdown. And of course, with several players getting hurt and leaving the game, Harrison's departure was probably the most impactful.

The catch would have been overturned because Harrison stepped out of the end zone and then came back in to catch the ball.

OSU is definitely an elite program. However, their defense is subpar, for its standards for sure, and the coordinator doomed it to fail with suspect calls late. When you are up 14 in the 4th Q, and your secondary has struggled all year and have not proven to be able to consistently lock down opposing WRs, why are you choosing cover 0 as your scheme??? Also, our offense was without WR1 & WR2 ( for 17 minutes), RB1, 2, & 3, and TE1 for the majority or entirety of the game. Even with all of that additional talent/elite status not being in the game, OSU handled UGA. UGA escaped with a win after leading for less than two minutes of the entire game.
@TopBillinSports2 жыл бұрын
Yes, they "handled" a team they lost to giving up more points and being outscored. You Ohio State fans are going out sad as tuck with these excuses. Leading by 1 or 2 scores isn't handling anyone. Beating them by 4-5 scores is handling someone, as you leave no doubt. Pathetic fan base

Great vid murph you hit the nail on the head when it you mentioned the lack of trust GA had in our corners.we went man early on but got absolutely smoked. Played much more zone concept in the 2nd half. Both ringo and Lassiter have clear flaws: ringo has poor agility and quickness while Lassiter is a limited athlete. Kirby had a lot more trust when stokes and Campbell were our corners.

@TopBillinSports2 жыл бұрын
Because I play football and understand what I'm seeing. Do you know what a double move is, Sir? It's a combination of routes. A slant and go would be a slant mixed with a 9. A stuggo is a faux curl and a 9, etc. What route would just continuing to run upfield and slightly alter your path be called?

Let me ask you this Murph, most of us watch the game and judge plays based on success or failure. You breaking it down helps us understand there’s a lot More to it. With Darnell being out, I’m wondering how well Delp did in his place. Not sure if you have time to break that down but it seems critical to UGA for Delp to step up so we can continue to run our 12 and 13 personnel. So, the question is do you have time to break down Delps game film?

Thanks, bro. Not sure if I have time to just dissect Delp. And if Granddaddy ends up playing, it would be a waste of time. I look at everything on any given play, so I'm sure I'll have an opinion on Delp on the watch backs.

Ohio State left it all on the field and the Dawgs had to reach up to their level for the first time all season.
