I think that this is a perfect example of two great teams playing in an era where home field advantage may be more important than ever and if Texas were going to Georgia Saturday night, I feel this would end up being a different game. I think Texas is able to pull out a close one because of the home field advantage that Texas finally seems to have figured out, after being one of the more complacent home fan bases over my 60 years of being a Texas fan. Also, Georgia will likely see plays that Texas hasn't put on film all year because they haven't needed to go very deep into the playbook this year. Between those two things, I think that gives Texas the edge this week. I think Georgia will put up a fight till the bitter end, so I really expect it will be close. I also think it will be important for Texas to get up early and not let Georgia start rolling with their run game because that will take the crowd out of it and eat up lots of game clock that keeps Texas' offense off the field. Things that Kirby is almost certainly going to want to do.

The first two years Missouri and Texas A&M were in the SEC, Missouri made it to the SEC championship both years, and lost both years. Being a fan of the sport and this conference since the mid 90s I don't really like much changing and unfortunately the time has come for the entire sport to change completely. I saw Bobo's playbook, it's 2 runs one 60-yard incomplete pass, and a punt. Texas playbook has 10 runs 20 ten-yard passes and in the 3rd and 4th quarters 40 and 50-yard passes Ga defense will be tired. Score Texas 48 Ga. 16.

@@samright4661 Texas smushed No 8 Michigan away. Smoked a super talented OU roster (yes I know they don’t have a QB or a decent OC yet, OU will be much more dangerous next year). Smushed a no 18 OU in the biggest rivalry game of the season for any college sport. And Texas beat a bunch of top 25-50 teams on paper. Smoked the same MS state that gave UGA a scare. Texas has much more of an all around resume

If Penix had played as well against Mich as he did against Texas, Washington would have been the NC. He hit 11 or 12 in a row at one point and hit 5 or 6 for 20+ yards. That was the difference in the game. Penix was on fire and his receivers were catching everything even when the ball wasn't perfect or when smothered by a Texas db/lb. and then Texas wouldn't get the guy down and he would run for a first down or a big play. This Texas team is better at open field tackling and that is why their pass defense is looking so good this year. When a completion is made, the receiver is almost always tackled on the spot with little to no run after the catch.

Penix didn’t throw against Michigan like he did against Texas simply because of the pressure Michigan brought on him. Michigan was going after him, HARD. Even if they didn’t sack him, they would hit him as soon as he released the ball. This made Penix nervous. The constant pressure and even HITS in the backfield, messed with him mentally to where he was making errant throws. On one particular play I remember, he completely airmailed a receiver kinda fading near the sideline who was wide open. Mechanics were off, simply because he was being hit all night long. Hill came off the edge almost exclusively against OU, with Lefau starting at middle linebacker. Because of that, Hawkins couldn’t do anything, even with his legs. I think if Lefau is starting again at middle for Georgia, and Hill (and Simmons) coming off the edge almost every down, it may be a long night for Beck.
