RawBeautyKristi water based foundation won't work on top of a silicone primer, it need to be silicone to silicon, water to water, that could be some of the issue. But I find most water based foundations like this look super dry, it's the same with the MAC and smash box ones, and they've just repackaged the same formula for Estée Lauder and released it AGAIN 🙄

I work at Sephora here in Denmark, and went to training with makeup forever. They say that, this foundation cannot be used with a beauty blender at all, since it will soak up all the water and only leave the pigments, making it look strange on the skin. It is also meant for people who needs a very natural base, but just a more even skintone and something for the powder products to grab on too. You can also use it under your normal foundation, since this is waterproof it will make anything you put on top last longer. And lastly all of their waterproof makeup is made for the france swimming team :)

Ok so here's a tip for u: water based primers should be used woth water based foundation and silicone based primer should be used woth silicone based foundation. If you mix and match you get a oil/water mix kind of reaction. And that's when it won't last :) try it. It works

Yes!! This is something I am well aware of. The problem I have is Identifying if a product is water or silicone based. Because even silicone based products will still have water in them sometimes. AND, I have a silicone primer I love, as well as a matching foundation. But I love the MUFE ultra hd foundation (water based), and I can not find a good water based primer that I like and that I feel like makes Any positive difference. Ugh

I really don't like the Water Blend foundation (MUFE face & body was my holy grail so you can imagine how mad I am) butttttt I realized that because it's a water based foundation a sponge is DEFINITELY not the tool to use cause ya know beauty blenders soak up water. AND the primer that you use makes a huge difference, silicone & water don't do well together either. I think I am one of like 5 people on the planet who actually like the subculture palette. Maybe I just got a slightly better batch (which would mean their batches are inconsistent, and that's obv a problem), or the formula just works well with my skin?? But it actually blend super easily for me, nothing like ANY review I've seen. I completely believe the reviews from people too, I get it doesn't work for them, but it does for me. I’ve had a similar problem with those NYX highlighters but I found that if I put a little bit on the back of my hand and then pick it up on a beauty blender and THEN place it on the high points of my face it looks super pretty. It looks really bad on me too if I apply it right form the doe foot applicator onto my face

If you're using too much matte stuff, and your skin is dehydrated, your skin is going to produce more oils to try and makeup for the dehydration. Rehydrate and hopefully it helps, or try a new primer.

So, I hated primer for years, gave up on trying them because I never saw a decent difference...UNTIL my gorgeous other half bought me a Guerlain L'Or primer ( a gift for my 3 years Cancer free results) AND it is AMAZING, it makes my skin look awesome even before make-up and then makes my make-up go on easier and last for hours. The Water Blend isn't really meant to be more than light/sheer coverage and because it's 80% water any silicone based primer is just going to make the primer and foundation push against each other so the foundation doesn't really sit properly on the skin

it also shouldn't be applied with a sponge. A wet sponge soaks up a lot of the water, leaving behind the pigment (like how it looks separated in the bottle before you shake it). So even if you buff it with a brush after applying with a sponge, the formula is already fucked. I apply with my fingers and stipple with a brush (you could also buff), so if you haven't tried it like that, maybe give it a go! If you have and you still hate it, then nevermind haha

megan sullivan nah I don't think I purchased one of the new batches. It was like a week or so after the release. I got mine from ulta. The Anastasia brush definitely has the issue with making the shadow fall out a TON. but I've had no problem with blending if I use wet n wild brushes or bh cosmetics brushes. They just seem to blend sooooo better than any other brush I've tried like morphe and zoeva etc. I actually love the palette a ton. But I also am no makeup artist so I don't take a bunch of colors on my lid lol

I have a Marsk pigment and that's exactly what it looks like. Like, no shit.. EXACTLY the same shade and shimmeryness. but its labeled as eye shadow. It was so jokes when you put that on your face! LOL

I'm wondering if there's a way to prevent liquid foundation (that has been set) from separating on the nose if you have dry skin? I've tried all sorts of primers and no primer at all, moisturizer beforehand oil free or not and nothing works! By the end of the day it's totally patchy on my nose :( maybe I'm just unlucky

Dangerously Pink I used to have that problem too, switching to a hydrating primer and a better foundation really helped! A good setting spray is also important, I use the urban decay all nighter and it keeps my make up intact for a whole day. :)

Elizabeth Audrey I use moisturizer that has silicone in it as primer just cuz my skin is literally so dry that I don't need primer to prevent oil slicks. I use the maybelline fit me in 110 and trust me I've looked in Sephora but literally no lux brand has my shade :((
