I grew up poor but had a mom who made way too many excuses for my behavior so, in that sense, I was a spoiled, entitled poor kid. Took me being on my own to realize "Oh, dear! I don't know sh1t about "life"! Changed my perspective and outlook real quick! I vowed to raise my children differently and I'm proud to say I have two daughters who can fix about 90% percent of any auto/home issues they encounter and take responsibility for their actions... most of the time... I've heard so many complaints about the wind that I've started responding that I might just be a strange man because I actually enjoy getting blown. Seriously, I find the feeling of the wind against me to be among the top reasons why I ride. I'm convinced that a faired or wind-screened bike would take away some of the visceral feeling that I get from riding.

And HD snobs. Not all of them but way more than other brand riders. I'm not the cruiser type. My back doesn't care for the reclined riding position. Gotta have my feet under me. But if I was I'd get an Indian. Their marketing is more about the product and not about some dated outlaw image culture. We have a multi brand shop here. The only dealership in town. One building is all HD and the other covers Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki. I'm welcomed like family on that side but if I walk my no tat, no ponytail, rice burner riding self into the HD side I about have to fire a round off in the air to get any help.

No offense CC, but if you were an all-season, long-distance traveler instead of a city boy, you'd know what wind blast on a motorcycle is all about. When the temperature drops enough and under wet conditions you gotta have protection against hypothermia. Not to mention road grit and gravel thrown up by trucks, etc.

I would be curious to know its annual mileage, when you ride in winter, at night, or in difficult conditions, EVERY DAY, you're happy to have some protection. I’ve never heard of any of these complaints from new riders. Maybe you’re just hanging around with a whiney crowd. The only thing I see consistently is that newer riders are afraid of doing multi-day trips on their bikes, which I don’t get because that’s one of the most fun things to do on a bike. Regarding the wind on a naked bike, it can be a lot if you’re touring all day (6+ hours) or if you have to slab it for 3-4 hours to get to the good stuff.

@@CycleCruza I think you’re missing the point. The point isn’t if it CAN be done, the point is that at high speeds for long durations, wind does affect how tired you can become, or even simple things like being able to hear your Bluetooth speakers. Riding 6 hours without being able to hear music or an audiobook simply isn’t as fun. I live in Nashville and make the trip to the Smoky’s about once or twice a month. When I had an S1000r, I noticed the difference of how tired I was when pulling into camp when I changed to an S1000XR. The XR has a sport windscreen and give you clean air on your helmet, but there is a different. Seems hard to argue that fact and it’s generally accepted. You’re just so hard Cyclecruza. 🙄 We all know 99% of your riding is an hour or 2 on local roads.

Always wear earplugs. And when there is no screen, there is no buffering and only clean air for the helmet so you can actually hear better. I am 6’3” tall and while I don’t ride naked bikes, most of them may as well be as my upper body is mainly in the wind. Good helmet helps. Being in shape helps. I never have lower back issues when my core is strong from riding.

@@gregorbabic7664 I got fed up of not hearing with wireless Bluetooth comm systems and got some custom Bluetooth earplugs. They have 35db of attenuation, rather than the 15-25db’s on most filtered earplugs, and the battery lasts for 15 hours and the sound is so much better.

I can't stand the motovloggers who get into traffic disputes everytime they ride & never think they're the problem. If you get into a traffic dispute every other time you ride. Then the problem is you. Most are from the new rider/motovlogger constantly riding in people's blind spots. Like their favorite spot is the drivers blind spot. Then break the drivers mirror coz he didn't see them. The wannabe biker is too stupid to realize his bike is smaller than a car & the drivers mirrors can't see him in the blind spot which is why it's called a blind spot.

They sure are Cycle Cruza. 😅 As for the fairings on long distance runs as I recently had with mild rain, ducking into my windscreen at hight speed sure kept me dry. Don't get me wrong I love nakeds but a semi naked for me is the way to go, particularly on runs of 150 miles distance or more.

A good way to look cool without risking safety is to put those underglow led lights and customize your motorcycle out with led lights and people will see a big glob of glowing light coming their direction when they are not looking

😂 I agree a bunch of whinny people especially some KZbinrs that do ride complain about naked bikes and the wind. Yet they are still riding motorcycles with a windshield. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽 even the military going woke and soft.

Just a bunch of clones that look like they escaped the Sims game. Skinny jeans replaced Jncos and the broccoli cut is just a curly version of the 90's bowl. It's a variation of history repeating itself. Hard to swing a leg over when you can bend em and good luck forcing a helmet over the perm. Things will change soon enough.....hopefully. 😎

I don’t know if it’s my wind screen or not but I’ve never in all the years I’ve owned my Z1k had any problems with wind and I’ve rode that thing faster than anyone has business riding it. 😅 I had a Ninja before that with fairings so I’ve experienced both.
