lowering/throttling power by maybe 10% is one thing, turning off entirely ??????
@prashank5 ай бұрын
Then I recommend not buying tiny chargers. There are bulky ones that can run forever. I personally prefer tiny adapters even if they throttle as most devices don't draw full power for very long so I am okay with that tradeoff. That being said, they definitely need to make the fact that these throttle known on the box as it's otherwise false advertising.
@ahgflyguy5 ай бұрын
@@prashankthat’s not really reasonable, since your operating environment may be significantly warmer than mine, or you might have another charger plugged in right below it, or you might have it’s airflow completely impeded , or you might have a room fan that blows on it, or... lots of things. There would need to be a standard operating environment and standard orientation defined in order to make a useful and claim about not throttling. Is that hard to do? Not really. But it’s still less valuable than user reviews I think.

I *hate* the 5 volt x 3 amp split that just about every one of these adapters does whenever you add the A port into the mix. These are no exception, apparently. What the hell am I going to do with that meager-a$$ power split across TWO ports? Starting to think that carrying SEPARATE USB-A and USB-C chargers is the move. BTW, unrelated, but on a business trip I got extremely ticked off at my 100W Baseus non-desktop charger. (It’s the wall one with 2 C ports and 2 A ports). My work-issued Surface Laptop was charging, but slowly per the icon, despite having it plugged into the primary USB-C port with nothing else plugged in. Surprised to have better luck with an AmazonBasics 65W, when it comes to charging that laptop. That AmazonBasics one charges EVERYTHING… for me at least .

I bought the 65W version to charge my UGREEN 130W 20000 mAh power bank and it got super warm! The charger thermal throttled down from 60W to 22W after 20 minutes. I don't know. Most new stuff is less efficient and throttles or gets blistering hot and breaks. Apples 70W adapter and googles 45w adapter were better for thermals. You can always step up to 100W for some headroom on the power adapter.

It heated up like real hot and im not comfortable with holding it and i also pointed a fan on the charger to keep its temp low. I did reach out to ugreen about this and they said that its peak temperature is 70degrees celsius, since i have no way to test the temp, they just dismissed my concern. That's a tough one. Most of these are not very rugged and certainly not outdoor rated. Outdoor and work, I think construction site. In either case, if that laptop can draw 100 watts, this and any other 100 watt subcompact adapter is not made to do 100 watts all the time, there is a reason the laptop comes with a 240w adapter so in terms of general recommendation, it's a no.

Does the 100w adapter support Samsung's 45w fast charging? I want to use it for my s22ultra and my laptop which consume maximum 65w
@AllThingsOnePlace4 ай бұрын
So, on paper sure, it does drop out before the recommended 5 amps in the fastest charging mode used by Samsung. It’s close though so I suspect sometimes it’ll work and sometimes it won’t. In terms of the laptop, if it uses normal pd it should work fine.

I recently bought the nexode pro 100w, but sadly it didn't support super fast charging 2.0 for my s23 ultra, the first few seconds when i plug-in to my phone it says super fast charge 2.0 but then suddenly it changes to only fast charging. The weird thing is that i tried on my s20 note, and it super fast charged 1.0 work normally, without suddenly having to drop to fast charged. I've tried to switch the cable and all of it were 5A cables that i used, but still the result is still the same. It's a shame really... i don't know why it's like that.

Do the Ugreen nexode charger support (5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/5A, 3.3-21V/5A; PPS Adaptive Charge 100W Max) for my Pixel 9 pro XL, just like their older 100 W Gan charger as it is not listed on their description page?

It doesn't go to 5A in the PPS mode, 4.5A in reality. They claim 5A but it doesn't do it. The other modes are accurate.

Or their xiaomi 200w and ugreen or anker 200w is different? Ugreen 200w is safer than xiaomi 200w?
@AllThingsOnePlaceАй бұрын
That's a lot of assuming... The fact is phones are complicated with how they manage charging so whether it shortens battery life versus how the battery is managed is questionable. The studies are approximations at best. Charging at 1C versus 2C, if top and bottom of charge end are managed and thermals are managed, may not make any difference at all, every cycle damages the battery. Phones don't do what they say they do on the screen, that's just hype and nonsense. I haven't seen any evidence that a UGREEN charger will offer those hyper speed charging modes for phones. But yeah, those are like 20C charge rates, that is not realistic.

these videos are great and all but they all seem to have something that just isnt up to par and you make sure to showcase it. but you never give a reccomendation for something that is up to par. all the comments seem to be ignored when asked. why is that? makes these videos feel like a waste. there has to be a brand that covers all the bases. wheres the videos on that?
@AllThingsOnePlaceАй бұрын
Yeah, getting the technical information out there is part of it, very few doing that part. In terms of production, yeah, it's a tiny corner of a room, a shit camera, and the moron operating it so you know, never gonna win any awards that's for sure. I don't give a best of in every video, but also specifically don't do what everyone else does which is, say everything is amazing... YT wants that, it's easier for them to sell ads too. I can only answer so many comments, I do try to answer all top level comments, what happens after that is usually lost on me. I do a summary video usually yearly that covers the best of.
@brandonybarra6595Ай бұрын
@AllThingsOnePlace no worries. @aliensstolemybeer53625 ай бұрын
I think it's disgusting that ugreen and anker make their products to a low standard in this day and age. They've got too big for their boots. Anker were brilliant when they first come out. I refuse to buy their products anymore, especially since inui came out, I find their products more reliable and certainly not a rip off in price like the other brands.
@tommyle6285 ай бұрын
Anker switched to use more domestic power ICs and capacitor, same for Ugreen. It's a part of being less dependent on US and EU power ICs makers.
@AllThingsOnePlace4 ай бұрын
Interesting. I wonder if that's why the generation shift I've been seeing where everything new is worse than the last gen product. I'd expect the domestic ICs to match performance or even exceed since they can optimize further in house and these aren't leading edge technologies. Hmmm. I have no idea but it is very intriguing.
