Nice tutorial. It is really impressive what modern helicopters controls can do.

Helpful, thank you for your time putting this together.

Interesting video, thanks. At 4:20 you start the hover you move the cyclic back and then to the centre position. It appears to have a similar flight model to the Gazelle rather than the Huey, mi8 or Hind. Would you agree?

Well the Gazelle has stability systems too but is waaaaayyy lighter and therefore more nimble. Closest comparison is the Black Shark I would say.

That's a problem then, it flies like a coaxial helicopter, surely that's not right? The Gazelle's cyclic works in the same way and that had a huge amount of discussion of the flight model.

No that's not what I mean when refering to the Shark. With all stability systems on, it does feel like the Shark, also the way you operate it is quite similar. Depress trim release for maneuvers and so on. When you turn all the SAS stuff off, it feels a bit like Mi8. But in the end it's an Black Hawk and you can't just 1:1 compare it to other modules. SAS, that big stabilator and some other things make it quite unique.

Just a fast question, what folder do you place this training mod in? OK, I got this put into my training folder. When I launch, I have no control input at all. The craft moves forward, then about the second pylon, does a radical yaw and roll to the right resulting in crash.

Spent a few hours rewiring my controls. Not mentioned, after "fly", hit escape and select take control. Everything works now except my bird never leaves the ground. Rotor RPM 100%, torque 130%, collective up to 100%. This has obvious bugs.

Don't you always depress trim release if you are manouvering (not just with big turns, like your 180° at the end of the video) while FPS is on? Or what do you suggest with FPS on?
@nazradu2 жыл бұрын
The general answer is yes, you should in every maneuver depress the trim release button. But, when I do lateral movement like in the slow slalom I do not use the trim release. In that case I use the FPS system to avoid the heli from turning or the need of anti torque pedal. My personal habit is to depress when ever I want the nose to move. But that's my personal habit and must not be what is "right". It just works for me :D

Question: When I turn on my controls indicator and I pull back on the joystick the nose goes up but the indicator in upper left also goes up. As your indicator goes down down as your nose goes up. My joystick is set so pull back and nose raises and push forward and nose drops

No idea mate. Might be some sort of bug and I am sure I did read something like this on the Discord.

@@nazradu I also posted on Discord, found out that they made a change in update 1.1 and inverted the pitch axis of the control indicator Thanks for the response and great video Alex.
