Uh Oh, SCX10 Metal Transmission Review... DIY time

Hi guys,
I also bought some lights and link ends that I show you later in the vid. Lights, 10 links ends, trans was $45 Cdn delivered in a month. I'm happy despite the problems. Links below, no kickbacks for me, just sharing.
OK, this transmission had some problems, but the seller seems to be legit looking into it, so I give them a pass (I've dealt with lots of shady ones). For me, this thing is still worth the money because just gears routinely cost the same amount on Amazon where I live. Bottom line, cheap Chinese stuff makes a lot more sense if you have some DIY skills.

Drive to wrench or wrench to drive?

I have one of those all i did was pack it with grease and put loctite on the screws and it works perfect! I paid $20 US dollars on walmart for mine

I think they all come with that centre piece threaded so you can run it with that cover on or off, i think they have done that simply for getting to the spur gear without having to take the whole plate off.

I just ordered onc of these. $18.95 on eBay. I had to order it cause I got one of the plastic knock off scx10 ones, threw it in the rig and the inner transmission gears are skipping teeth. It must have bad gear mesh because the first time I went to go over some rocks and some tension was on the gears she just grinds.

I run that in my 3s tube chassis crawler/ rock buggy and so far it has been great. I also have the same problems with my front axles as you showed in your other vid. I will know what to do now though they still are not that tough so i carry a pack of a few when out and i do bust an axle cvd every 3rd outing or so.

I have 6 of these. They are better now. Just grease and go. Tighte the slipper. The end caps are threaded on now.

I have the same gearbox in my case they left out all the threads to screw in to. Had to tap all the threads myself got half my money back from them. And the metal looks ok but its pretty brittle its like they casted it from alluminium slack, its not high grade metal

Do you mind if I ask which seller you bought from? I'm taking a break from the no names and BangGood for a while because I'm tired of the gong show, but the actual Injora store has never sent me a bad part (others are good too, but I've bought a bunch from Injora directly)

I want to buy a bullet proof hot raceing . I don’t know why I just can’t trust this setup to last. Anyone have any luck changing the pinion gear to something else?

Mine sounds like the motor is spinning when crawling But I just said screw it one day and just kept the throttle down now it climbs with no problem

Right on. I tried that with a TRX4 running a brushless setup and melted the pads real good - oops.
