Oh for sure! Especially when they step on the horses' legs when mounting/dismounting, grab or pull on ears (or worse- hang things on them), kick them in the sides, or hit them with things that can scratch the paint! Oh, I suppose I should mention that I run a carousel. 😂

I hate when loads of people are around when I ride. Before I was going hacking and about 12 kids started screaming (most were 6 years old so they were exited) and 2 horses started spooking and the people who were riding them fell off and the kids started screaming even more and the horses galloped down the road one stopped a few meters down the road and the other went into someones yard and started rolling (BTW the people were OK just a little bruised)
@quittedaccount3837
@quittedaccount3837 4 жыл бұрын
This 👏 Is 👏 Why 👏 I 👏 Hate 👏 Little 👏 Kids. Something similar has happened, but Kids went running after the galloping horse trying to stop it. I was screaming not too, and they’ll scare the horse more. I had to get back on my my horse despite my back hurting like shit and help the poor horse, I ‘accidentally’ slapped on with my reins while trying to get the other horse. I’m so rude if kids try to go anywhere near my horse. I’m not willing to risk it after that experience

true that. excitable children don’t have a lot of impulse control. they should be taught and corrected, but you have to remember how you were as a child and be patient and understanding with them just like horses themselves. they’re very reactive little ones and usually with loud mouths LOL.

I was on a very special vacation to the USA and we went on a hack in a canyon with horses. It was a pretty small group, since some groups are from around 15 horses, and we only had 8. But eventually we had to go up again, and we needed to take a lot of u-turns, and people just didn't notice horses are big and needed the space in the turns... So we all had to keep asking if they wanted to stand against the walls or what you want to call them. There was this one person who didn't get English so he just didn't go out of the way so my father mule-bumped him.. yes my father was on a mule:)

I have learned so many things from care horses. I think you should never start on a horse if you have nit cared for one before. I always wanted to have horses but i found out that i dont eant them right now because of time. So find a care horse and practice on them. If you are older you can buy one if you wanf too. I remember riding past a bunch of kids on a school trip orienteering thing and they all started shouting in a similar way and when a couple ran up to us my horse spooked really bad and I was thrown. The kid still asked if he could ‘pet the horsie’ when I was sat on the floor and my horse was backing quickly away from him. All I could do was laugh and say no very firmly.

Ik I’m late but omg I relate! I was on a hack and my horse was literally my project 4 year old on one of her first hacks and then I was trying to get her to get past this bush and then this 5 year old ran up to me screaming and at first I was just like ok calm it’s only one midget then about 100 others appeared from round a corner they were all screaming and one tried to pet my pony and she bit they child because they spooked her and she was legit 4 then the school had a go at me for not controlling her and ‘not having a muzzle on a vicious pony’ 😃🤚🏼

Thank you so much for this video! I love horses and really want to go to England so seeing the beautiful fall colors, country roads, and hearing the clomping of hooves made it perfect. Some people may think that a wet, fall day is one that you should stay indoors on, but this is what I'd be doing!

I was fortunate enough to have had very wonderful, friendly horse named Charlie. He loved people and especially children and he would stand very still. Little people gathering around him was a treat to see. He loved the pats and the handfuls of grass. He was 9 when he came to me so I attribute his sweet attitude the folks who raised and trained him. Sweet memories.

I love your videos! So calming haha. Just a friendly tip... if he is still bucking with you on like that at the bridge you need to get after him for it because it can be very dangerous! Send him in a serious 4-wheel-Drive sitting trot (not a pretty and friendly trot) and do 3 small circles to the right, 3 small to the left, 3 small to the right, and again 3 small to the left then One rein stop, when he gives his head and stops, release him and let him sit there for a few seconds to absorb what just happened because he should be a little shaken that he got in trouble. Then try the bridge again as if nothing just happened. If he goes over it BIG reward, if he doesn’t repeat the circles. I guarantee after a few time of getting after him for his misbehaving he should go over the bridge no stress because he’ll now know not going over the bridge means he has to do technical foot work. I hope my friendly advice finds you! He is a lovely horse :)

thing is he broke his pelvis when he was younger so I would feel really cruel making him turn in tight circles! I think that would work on maybe a younger more agile horse but he is almost 22 with arthritis so tight circles I feel like aren’t the best idea! ❤️❤️
