@@locomojoboy2 I think Chad can be much better next year. I think he lost his confidence after the ankle injury, and it took him a while mentally. can you imagine the team with him at full capacity? I do wonder about the guys on the bench though - so many great players...

Even the box scores were more lopsided with Hawaii leading it over LBSU. Hawaii: Spyros: 14 K, .333 Dimitrios: 11 K, .500 Chaz: 8 K, .313 Guilherme: 5 K, .714 Cole: 4 K, 1.000 Jakob: 2 K, .250 LBSU: Nikolov: 20 K, .405 Olivier: 11 K, .368 Godbold: 6 K, .071 Holdaway: 2 K, .333 Torwie: 1 K, .000 Moody: 1 K, .500 The advantage easily favored Hawaii as Hawaii had way better balance whereas half of the kills came off of one player for LBSU. Spencer didn't get into double-figures in kills until late in the 3rd set, I believe. But the correct balance of efficiency and timely kills outside of the Greek duo (Dimi and Spyros) made it all the moreso, the effective combination for Hawaii to win back-to-back NCAA championships.

not a great showing from aidan knipe… as the setter you hold the whole team together. aiden played poorly all night. a handful of violations and errors, strange setting choices, sets too far off the net etc. don’t mean to pick on the guy but he really stood out as not being up to par, especially when the setter on the other side is the incredible jakob thelle- who is serving tough with several aces, making perfect sets and set choices, hitting on 2, really keeping the team focused and together. day and night between the two setters, and day and night for team dynamics as a whole! hawaii was all about teamwork, lbsu was full of discord all night

I think the difference between these two teams is Hawaii played with All Heart and All Team, LB played with big heads because they had Nikolov but he's young, got attitude and there was no team effort or togetherness at all, so sad, they wanted the title so bad and at all costs.

The last challenge by UH, showed Knipe higher than the net for one, when he is a backrow player. For another you see his rear end touch the net before the ball touched the ground.

Thanks for uploading the full game! Nikolov is an amazing talent, but he's not much of a team player. He's constantly yelling at his teammates even when he's the one making mistakes. You could tell that Olivier was over his chirping at certain points in the game.

Long Beach runs a boring predictable offense. 6 players on the court but not a team. Knipe the setter was out of his league. Expect him to not be there next year. Amd don’t expect Nokolov to be there either. Rainbow Warriors showed what teamwork really means. Btw Nikolov was Fed most every set in every match - talented yes… but having him as the prima Donna reduced the ability of the rest of the team and.. they lost. Enough about 2nd place. LOVE UH all the way around. Classic rebuilding to be a top contender right after most all the starters graduated!!

I don't think there's anywhere for Nikolov to go that's essentially better than long beach, other than Hawaii of course but I doubt they would pick him up. Long Beach definitely has to drop coach's son and recruit better players if they even have a chance at Hawaii next season.

I’m as much as a Hawaii fan as the next guy but UCLA was the first team to do it. They actually went to seven finals in a row.
@polyprinz2 жыл бұрын
@@atomicfreeeze We are talking when it changed from side out to rally scoring in 1999. And UCLA has never been to 7 straight NCAA finals, so that is a lie.
@atomicfreeeze2 жыл бұрын
@@polyprinz A lie? Paul Sunderland even said so in this same broadcast were you paying attention? And dude UCLA has won 19 titles. Not 1 not 2 but 19. That’s almost four times as many ncaa titles as the next school. The second most titles is Pepperdine at 5. So of course they’ve been in more championship matches than other school. I watched a bunch of them growing up. Including the 1996 match where Hawaii sadly lost to UCLA. Do you even follow men’s volleyball? Again I’m saying this as a Hawaii fan. Give credit where credit it due. Ucla was THE powerhouse school when it came to men’s volleyball. If you follow women’s volleyball they were even MORE dominant than Penn state used to be. That’s changed recently but that doesn’t change history. Don’t be the kind of Hawaii fan that invalidates other program’s achievements. Leave that to BYU fans. Jk.

@@atomicfreeeze UCLA has never been to 7 straight finals. Yes, they have won the most titles.
@polyprinz2 жыл бұрын
@@atomicfreeeze I didn't say anything or downplayed UCLA's success as a program, everyone knows of the Al Scates teams of the past. I was questioning where you came up with 7 straight finals for UCLA, because that is not true. Just saying. They have been to 6 Finals winning them all in the span of 8 years. Which is still a great feat, not to mention the 19 titles total.
