These comments saying how the crowd was loud when LBSU was serving or the booing and all that. I know Hawai’i fans have always been the best volleyball fans in the country, but it’s about time that our crowd got somewhat rowdy. This is a BIG game in a BIG time rivalry so it’s awesome to see the home team fans get into it. For those that complaining, it’s the nature of all sports. Don’t like it, there’s the door.

Much respect to both of these teams. Watched these last 3 matches between them a couple times already because it just so nice to see how having quality opponents changes a team for the better. Both of these teams played better than I’ve seen them all season, despite their individual statistics not looking as good (hitting %, blocks, etc). But these two teams should go down as some of the best all time and a rivalry to drive their programs for years to come. Can’t wait to see who wins in the NCAAs. Thanks for the post of the game. Much appreciated from this NY volleyball official.

I watched a lot of American volleyball videos and I noticed that in the USA the referees don't really call a lot of "double touches" or "carried balls". 2:28:50, he definitely carried the ball. An that is just one example amongst a lot of them...
@shelbymorimoto3715 жыл бұрын
zgodan decko in men’s yes I wholeheartedly agree. So many doubles uncalled. But in women’s (college especially) they call EVERYTHING its crazy. The slightest rotation on the ball
@locomojoboy25 жыл бұрын
zgodan decko I thought a carry is if they contact the ball a little too long when they send it up? In that example amado made contact with the ball for a quick short time, right?
@zgodandecko73925 жыл бұрын
There is a double touch and a ball that is carried. There is a slight difference. Referees call out when the balls is too long in your hands, when it is rotating too much, in this case it is obvious that the ball was almost carried while the player was on the ground. I am a player, I am not a referee so I am not saying I can perfectly detect each "dirty ball", I wouldn't go that far, however there are some touches that obviously should be called out by the referees. I mean, if you watch some of the perfect sets the setters are making from different difficult situations you would think they are the best setters in the world :S, but they are obviously not. I don't know, it just looks weird to me. If you watch professional european volleyball, it is totally different so I found that interesting and I had to comment on it...

@laserhawk2215 жыл бұрын
Ariel Pang nope stijn played well against them last week and they still couldn’t stop him today. That is because as a good hitter you should be able to adjust and stijn has every shot but rado cant adjust at all
@daixay45855 жыл бұрын
laserhawk221 It just depends. Stijn doesn’t have awesome games all the time either. Rado has been averaging more kills per set which is why teams scout him. If their blockers are scouting him, Joe is smart to know that better opportunities are up for Stijn. Stijn played better because he got better in system sets vs Rado (as mentioned in video) getting out of system sets that are harder to convert points since sets are not exactly ideal.
@laserhawk2215 жыл бұрын
Ariel Pang rado averages around 4.10 k/s while stijn averages around 3.94 k/s so its not that big of a difference and stijn is hitting a higher percentage on the season. Rado always hits low and hard and that wont work against quick middle blockers like Long Beach states blockers, rado needs slow big blockers to be successful like uc irvine. And I guarantee you that after last week lbsu scouted stijn way more than rado cause they already know how to shut him down
