This song is seriously helping me cope so much. I’m sober 5 days after a relapse and a 2 week bender. And I feel like this song perfectly encapsulates the process, and the fact that the serenity prayer is mentioned. People not fucking with me like they used to. Maybe myself not even fucking with myself like I used to. And the clincher, “I get high wastin’ my shine and that’s the fucking truth.” God damn. If that doesn’t encapsulate the struggle with drugs and alcohol and the fucking potential we squander in our abuses, I don’t know what does. Three cheers to no longer blocking our shine. Bless.

I wont lie and say that these songs in the album are bad because I love the $B I first heard back in exodus and audoban and that's what I'm used to. The truth is that its unbelievable to see the change from then to now. Those old songs helped me vent my anger and frustration in a way that kept me out of trouble. Now hearing songs like this it's almost like I'm being told that it's time to reflect on the past an move forward despite everything. I'm just so happy to see them recovering from where they started out. I'm not sure who I speak for but for those I do I would like to say thank you for everything you guys have done.

They're not "recovering" lmao listen to the lyrics it's pretty blatant that things aren't going as they had invisioned before the fame "People warning me that everything was gonna change, never thought that it would be in the worst way" this whole song is basically a cry for help since becoming famous...they're praying to a god they never thought they'd believe for Christ's sake. It's basically them revealing that wish everything was back to how it was before the fame. Looking for something real, looking for people to treat them like they used to..they are a lot more depressed now than they were before and these lyrics are a clear testament to that.

Damn if I could relate to any song right now it would be this song 100%. Crazy to think you're the only one goin through this type of shit but it's out there everywhere. Anyone wanna be friends or play games , talk about shit let me know. A lot of people and super close friends just sort of moved on and acted like nothing was ever real even after 6-7 years of being the closest friends now I've given up trying to mend things but I've given up at this point. I gotta move on with my own life and figure shit out on my own and let my old friends move on with whatever they're going through no matter how many times I said I'd emotionally be there for them but it never really meant shit to them and it shows clear as day. Just sort of sad . I hope y'all are doing well in life, figure out your shit and try to better yourself because some people can just not be relied on and will stab you in the back in the end. Not playing a victim but just talking experience. I wish the best to y'all and hope the best for anyone else going through the same shit

This song man, I hadn't heard this since it came out and man... My father and I have had a really rocky relationship, he's always chased people off by being toxic, and my family on his side don't talk to me at all, it fucking sucks, I really do wish I could go back to how it used to be. But it will never be like that because I've lost too many on that side. Being the black sheep is hard especially when you lose people before you have the chance to get back close with them.

This song saves my life every day. I was stagnant before I listened to these words. I didn’t have a good job, I didn’t have a hobby at that moment, everything was going nowhere In this song I was able to hear everything that I had been accumulating for the last couple of years, but that I could not express in words. After that I just didn’t want to waste my shine. This all was really a lame excuse Thank you
