also you’ll hear 59 a lot here so i’ll just explain it grey*59 or g*59 is their label that they own and their little group. they rep it all the time from the beginning of their career until now. currently they have 5 artists other than themselves signed to the label. shakewell, ramirez, chetta, night lovell, and my favorite, germ. they’re all fire and have a solid amount of music out, and they’ve also made collab tapes with everyone apart from chetta and night lovell, but they still have songs together

The flows are very unique, and occasionally the lyrics & subject matter are too. there's a lot to read into with a lot of their stuff, especially if you track their general trajectory from 2014 where they are clearly just learning how to record themselves to 2015 where they miraculously found an extremely unique voice among their peers in the underground soundcloud trend, to crashing out in 2017-2019 from going overboard on living their image, to 2020-present where they have become a voice for recovery & the counterculture of the music industry. Their sound changes in subtle ways over the course of the adventure, especially during the 2017-2019 era, where it's very clear from Scrim's voice (the producer) that he's fallen very deep into darkness & drug abuse. Basically, the narrative intertwines with the sound and that's what makes their music so good

This song comes from the very end of their incredible 2015 run, where they dropped 7 solo mixtapes and 5 collab mixtapes, at the same time as their sound fully maturing. This was during a time where they were still taking a lot of risks but had also fully honed their craft, which explains the very experimental verse from ruby delivered with sheer confidence

Also I listened to this song on repeat when I was at my lowest on drugs and it helped me get through each day... they actually are the reason I was able to get clean I got sober right after scrim got sober seeing him be able to do it ik I could too

Hey much love Jo$e! Thats awesome! You guys have a great community man! Its lonely sometimes surviving in that environment and sobering up especially with some of our friends and loved ones that weren't able to make it. In a way we get to live for them even if we are the last of that tribe and its lonely not to have them, there is a lot of people experiencing the same feeling and it seems this is a great community to understand that and have that safe space to relate and not feel different. although i really love this song, this is not really a great start to trying to listen to them... you should maybe try to listen to $uicideBoy$ - Matte Black, 1000 Blunts, That's Just Not Empirically Possible, Misery in Waking Hours, Thorns, Fucking Your Culture, Champagne Face, Burgundy..... $crim was the first guy and Ruby Da Cherry was the second ....and no Ruby does not have a speech impediment they are cousins from New Orlean's and Ruby has insane flows, I dont really think I have heard another rapper who has quite as many unique flow patterns as Ruby .. They were Addicts heavily addicted and Both are now Sober, they also used to not believe in God and now since becoming sober $crim has found God so yea, earlier in their music they definitely were heavily depressive/suicidal in the literal sense of the word now they just turned $uicide into like "cult following" if you will. If you want or need to know anything about these guys just let me know what you would like to know.

Btw just because I realized I left this out. $crim is the producer of all their music other than a few songs when they very first started out, only making that a point because he is highly regarded anyone who listens to them as one of the best most GOAT producers of all time, but I will let you two judge if you think same as all of us
