I have actually met Scrim a few times in his Sobriety circles and talked to him few times. He is a real and as good of dude as you can be with his fame and money. Seeing this dude with unlimited resources putting the work in during his forth year sober making 7 days a week commitment to it. It really made me stop and say man if he can do it when he has every resource to never be sober again then so can when I wanted to give up. He invited me and a few others to his luxury house for a crawfish boil and he probably had no clue that 50 percent of the songs I stream is from him. I never even brought it up how much I love their stuff. He saw me a year later in New Orleans remembered my name and ask me how I was doing. Dude is authentic as can be

Thank you Tom for your reaction. As someone starting internship soon, I love the honesty about the mental health and addiction struggles that some of us, too, have to wade through. The title, this time, hinted to the depth of the lyrics. The whole Gemini vibe. To one person the farewell was death, to others it was farewell to the past and hello to hope. Both happy ever afters. It’s personal to each person hearing.

Watching you break down this song after listening to it a couple times before hit home. I’ve never related to a song more. I used to struggle with hard drugs and I currently struggle with alcohol and weed. I know what it’s like to lose a parent at a young age. Lost my mom to alcoholism at 15 so when Scrim talked about losing his dad to OD at 9, that hit a nerve in a good way and let me release these bottled up emotions.

I can tell you're a fan. The way you were so hyped when the beat dropped. I know exactly how you felt. sometimes i feel a huge lump in my throat when i hear a $uicideboys song for the first time.
@PrivateDasher8 ай бұрын
Whooooooaaah. Mind blown. Not your usual $uicideBoy$. These mfk’rs are truly genius. They wrote a song that resonates with both the ones with dreams yet to fulfill and the ones who feel they have just been here way too fkn long already. Like at the end of a family trip and you just wanna go home. You can’t end the trip, you do have to complete it. (Come on get back in the car already! Let’s get tf home already!). They showed hope yet didn’t betray the beautiful toxicity of the beats and lyrics. They used their darkness to give hope. Transmuting negative vibes to the positive. Damn. ♥️ They tricked my unhealed sad bish side, into having hope. Hmmm…means I don’t have to be either or, be like this or that. WE ARE ALL BOTH, our own dark and light. Once we all accept that and vibe together with it. We will all be in the same frequency. Harmonizing love and oneness with our Creator. Stop telling people how to feel or be. Hug your own dark and love others as they are. Thank you $uicideBoy$. Thank you Tom!!! This is my therapy. IYKYN: This is a short version of my original comment. For my two fans (who can’t even read 😂😂) here’s what was cut: This is genius. Tom the therapist dude said the lyrics at show healing and hope. The therapist interpreted the tassel lyric as being over the toxic BS of the past you move into a life of healthy lives, relationships and experiencing more happiness. Now, this is what got me the name of the song is… “Are you going to see the rose in the vase or the dust in the table”. It’s so obvious I know. Of course, he’s sees the rose and is being positive. But, from the long title to using the tassel example and the last lyric being about it’s time to say farewell, walking away from his old life. BUT title in mind, this is two songs that end very differently. A song that satisfies two souls, that are completely equal but not at all the same. One lives longer, in happiness♥️ then the other learned the life lessons and was released from a life of hell, immediately on their way to the heavenly home♥️. Neither ending is wrong, neither soul is bad. Both souls won and life’s end in hope and happiness. That’s all anyone one of us deserve.

@@ReactionTherapyOfficial thank you b I believe, no I know, that’s exactly what it was about. Because of the tying up loose ends. Anytime you move away from somewhere or something it’s rare to not have a few last little things to do. If you don’t they come back to bite you in the butt and can pull you back. Tie them up, you’re done, move on to the better, whether it be for life or…My dad was very sick and promised my mom (who always stressed about credit card debt they accumulated), he wouldn’t pass until it was paid off. She didn’t realize he meant it and forgot the statement. Two years later, I was watching TV with my dad’s and we heard her sassy l, “Hallelujah! We’re officially debt free!” He and I looked at each other, he smiled. I tried to smile and be happy, for her but my dad saw my face. And he knew I remembered. Within a few days he was in the hospital and coded and was gone. He tied up loose ends and moved on. ♥️

On my way to work early this morning after it dropped, I listened to it on repeat the entire time. 40 minutes straight on the highway spent replaying this song cuz I couldn’t get enough of it. I’m in charge of the flower packaging department for a very successful weed grow house/factory. Birds of a feather flock together as I say, so with my own experience in the past on top of what I see amongst my coworkers everyday, the whole addiction thing is ever present in my life and this song really spoke to me. I thought about it all day. Came home from a long shift, saw your reaction, and it was just the icing on the cake reaffirming everything I felt while listening to it for the first time on my drive to work this morning. So many great, honest and true messages to be found in these lyrics. Ruby and Scrim are my heroes, they always provide me with so much hope and inspiration.

I don’t know if I agree if childhood trauma automatically fucks somebody up for life. It definitely CAN, but I feel like HEALTHY trauma bonds, where there’s also radical honesty and love involved, can help alleviate some of that trauma. “Trauma bonding” doesn’t always have to be toxic, although that’s usually how it’s described. It only becomes toxic when one or each of the partners act in malignant and dishonest ways, which is common in trauma bonds due to the traumatized individual(s) not knowing how to love themselves or another properly and with respect. But if you connect and relate to somebody through the darker aspects of yourself (i.e. trauma, pain, etc.), that can actually be an opportunity for both of you to grow as long as each individual isn’t lying to themselves or their friend/partner. In that sense, I feel like you CAN truly alleviate childhood trauma and pain by knowing you’re not alone. Maybe I’ve got the idea or definition of a trauma bond all wrong, or maybe trauma bonding needs a new and refurbished definition where lying and lack of self-acceptance and love are the core substrate for why the bond developed in the first place.

Love this song, love the SB so much, I battled with drugs and nicotine and alcohol for over 12 years. It was the only thing to keep me numb after watching my grandma die and then my grandpa die 9 months later then my friend who texted me at 2am telling me for how awesome of a friend I was and thanking me for all the support, gave him cpr after making a 5 min drive that was 15 mins. A friend house that I went to when his girlfriend asked me where he’s been and finding him with a GSW to the temple, and many more after that, if any of you are struggling with mental health you will get through it, iv been through hell and back, wish I would of discovered this channel many years ago the things you talk about I tell my friends, and this is coming from a person with zero therapy, I found my way out and help my friends and strangers everyday and tell them my story about how I hit past rock bottom and came back up to help the people that are suffering, Tom I don’t expect you to respond but cheers to you to making a difference to the KZbin community

Thank you for your videos. SB have been a big part of me trying to get to a better place. I still struggle every day. I would love to see a reaction from you to Peter Jackson's "the lord of the rings" trilogy. It would be a big shift from your usual content but I would personally love it. Recently rewatching it completely changed my life and it's hard to put into words how powerful it was. I think I've watched 90% of the reactions on youtube to the trilogy and none of them analyze it from a mental health point of view. There is such a strong theme of holding on to hope, especially when you cannot see it. I can't stop looking at the ring as depression/addiction, even though I know Tolkien most likely did not intend that. He deeply encouraged readers to take their own meaning so I think he would be happy about my experience. Either way I'll be here for the next SB reaction, cheers!
