For me the highest point for suicideboys is their creativity with their production. How they been flowing on them amazing beats from Scrim ever since they came out is simply amazing to hear. Glad you liked it too!

Mainstream would imply that they conform to mainstream radio rules, which they don't. But their music is definitely less dark than before
@austinb3560 Жыл бұрын
They went mainstream when they switched their message. The pessimistic to optimistic outlook on suicide, substance abuse, and materialism was the clear change.
@strangeone7198 Жыл бұрын
@@austinb3560 mainstream is like Drake, Gunna, etc. Safe music that people won't judge for being "weird". $B are still the weird dudes we grew up with but yea definitely less pessimistic. Idk they're in a really strange spot right now with their music
@austinb3560 Жыл бұрын
@@strangeone7198 Gunna and Drake weren’t always mainstream, just like every other artist that gains popularity. Same applies to the suicideboys. They got popular, which altered their outlook on life and changed how their music sounds. The style might be different, but they are far from who they were when they started or were on the come-up.
@strangeone7198 Жыл бұрын
@@austinb3560 @psychedelic_funk Idk, it might be a mix of popularity and a style. I think main stream is a style of music that fits into whatever is currently trending in the decade. Something that normies and fuck boys listen to because it's normal for them and others, they don't feel weird for listening to it. $uicideboy$ will never be truly mainstream because, well they're $uicideboy$. Just their name alone isolates them from what's normal
@austinb3560 Жыл бұрын
@@strangeone7198 I don’t listen to Gunna much, but all those guys, include Thugger, pretty much started the trap-rap, “slat,” music genre. It might be mainstream now, but it wasn’t at the time.

Im glad you fuck with this. Ruby and Scrims ability to make such tasteful tracks and albums is second to none. When we're all 50-60 years old we will look back at these guys the same way people currently look back at the og's like biggie, nwa, three 6, ect.

This album so good. Matte Black is the perfect song imo. That would always be my go to song to introduce someone to $uicideboys. I also like that they are kinda like the Beatles in the fact that the constantly refer back to older songs by them. Like I know you really fucked with Lucky me and they had Unlucky me on this album. Not to mention when they sample themselves from older songs. Fun to figure that out. Really cool because it builds this whole lore with their music. And btw thanks for reacting to them like this. You make great vids. Keep grinding You right though they are in a weird place. They definitely aren’t mainstream but people know of them. But people stay away or listen to one or two of their real heavy stuff and start labeling them in categories. They their own thing like the Beatles 😂 who are my favorite band with Pink Floyd being #2 and the Doors being #3
