Junkhead made so much sense when I met my ex bf. I was particular about what substances I wanted. I was all about the downers, but my ex, it was completely dependent on what was available. Like this mother fcker spent 18-21 locked in a basement doing heroin & cough syrup. I told him about datura bc my dad had lost his fcking mind on it, & dude goes looking for datura seed pods. (When he found them he did them with heroin & spent 3 days in the ICU on a vent. When I was in rehab & they asked if my bf was an addict & I’m like, definitely. They’re like what does he do, & I’m like, depends on what he can get. Like he doesn’t have a favorite (besides opiates), he’s an equal opportunity addict. Addicts all have issues but the kind that doesn’t have a lane, they’re the ones who you worry about dying. My ex almost died 3X’s that I’m aware of. He did get clean but only bc he had had to detox cold turkey in jail (a hell id only reserve for the worst of the worst) & part of his probation was he had to get on those shots that won’t let you get high. The thing about addicts, & I think AIC’s music explains this well, is that you don’t become one bc sht is great. A lot of ppl do drugs and they’re fine. But trauma is like the number one indicator if you’re going to become an addict. Genetics play a role, but if you’ve grown up in a good family with good attachment, don’t suffer from abuse, & have parents that legit love you, you’re likelihood of getting addicted to anything goes way down.

I get you, bro. It can be difficult to find the words to explain the music AIC creates. It isn't trying to get you hyped by any means but they do it so well that it ends up getting you hyped anyway. It's one of those things where quality always shines through and greatness is just undeniable

They did it 4 times and on my own personal list, while #1 stays the same most days, City of Evil sometimes gets there.
