Monster Rancher has been one of my favorite series for most of my life. It was the reason that I bought a PlayStation originally! Ultraman is something that I’ve gotten into more recently and the pairing is really an inspired idea. I’m so glad to hear it turned out good and I hope it introduces a lot of new folks to both series!

When I first saw this game I was a bit put off by the the choice of Kaiju instead of original monsters from MR, but after seeing more videos I got the game yesterday! Surprisingly there is so much charm and MR qol in this title and I’ve only scratched the surface. There are some original MR monsters like Suezo, and there’s a solid list of I think 200 different monsters. Going to have a lot of fun with this one! If you are put off by the designs like I was it makes sense after you see these ridiculous Kaiju stomp around with personality! Almost making you feel bad that they were dealt the card of early costume monster design so you want to care for it anyways. Hope that helps anyone decide!

Aw, man. I really hope they release this on PC soon. Monster Rancher 1 and 2 were some of my favorite games as a kid, and then it disappeared

I saw Korone playing this game the other day and I thought it was some weird Japan only game. Didn't realize it was coming out over here. I do have a soft spot for Monster Rancher. My biggest concern is that I've always thought that almost all Ultraman kaiju designs look really outdated. Godzilla they are not.

Godzilla's 60s & 70s designs aged like milk if you actually rewatch those movies. Goji's head especially looked like frog's. Also, the Ultra Kaiju in this game is intentionally using the classic ones from the 60s & 70s due to this being generally their first collab with Monster Rancher. Ultraman has a lot more cooler kaiju designs starting from the Heisei era of the 90s.

Monster rancher 1 and 2 are really worth your time. There's days worth of gsme time there. MR1 was my childhood so I'm biased

Am I the only one that thought Kaiju should be cooler looking? Also why micro transaction cards to buy. The switch has the exact set up to run the monster rancher theme. It already has tons of amiibos and the games are cart based. I see non of the character the original games had.

You have a lot of misprounouncing and even some misinformation in this video. Like you can have more than 4 techs on a kaiju there are just 4 ranges to use them and you have to shift which one is selected when two or more share a range.

That’s just optional. You can also generate monsters using keywords or buy ones that get rotated out every season.
