Working condition is worst, u have to deal with worse workers and contractors and clients, u have to work in harsh sunlight and climate which leads to health problems. There is also no holidays on Sunday. It is worst.

@@heimito9657 Electrical is better than both as it's a Circuital branch and Everything is dependent on power system which are generating dynamic jobs in this field. Mechanical is worst in India just like Civil So Electrical stands out from both and even salary packages are higher in EE than Mech and Civil. But working condition of EE and Mechanical are best bcoz u work in a company unless like Civil Engineering where u work in harsh environment

Diploma in Electrical engineering is indeed best option for diploma level (Indeed further degree is great too which opens AE exams doors too). You'll be eligible to SSC JE, RRB JE and many local JE technician exams with diploma in Electrical. Go for it blindly, competition is everywhere & still best option is Electrical.
