UK App Developers: Is it okay to copy your work?

I had the same problem. A developer copied my app icon, description verbatim and format. I reported it to Google and after a few days his dev account got banned. So people, there infinite amount of app ideas out there. Think of something unique and STOP copying other people's ideas.

Hi Eric. I am happy to see your videos. Very informative for me. I am planning add an application to google store (google play) and i want my app to be a pay product. But i don;t couple of things. If i charge my app say Indian Rupee 100, how much does google charge for me this app. How much does paypal charge to me per each product sold to a customer. If there will be any conversion charges when i transfer amount from pay pal to my bank account. Please help me.

Hi Eric. Gnarley :D Do you think it is unfair that other app-makers with large subscriber-base can take your app idea, make a similar app(not a clone) and outrank your app? Can you please suggest how indie developers can compete with the "app dev moguls" who have substantially high resources to use?

+John Morris That's a good question. It is definitely unfair and it is a stacked system. For example, if a large game maker releases a new app, they can advertise that to all their existing users using house ads or nag screens. But, they also have more to live up to. I'm not sure. Are you having this problem, John?

+Overpass I'm not facing it yet but I'm pretty sure I will, in the near future given that I want to build a unique app-portfolio. In the app/tech-space, the market has the scales tipped against newcomers(with potentially innovative ideas) but who don't have an existing following. I thought of 2 possible solutions to this problem. One is to build a brand value(kudos to you guys for the work with overpass brand). Another is to go toe to toe with the copy-cats/competitors and outdo them in product-quality. I guess there is very little first-mover advantage in this market. So the final question we should be thinking about, as davids against goliaths, is this. "How do we capture the highest market share in the least amount of time possible?"

Hello, which program you suggest to make graphics for games?

We use illustrator or Flash mostly. My designer, Sandee, prefers using Flash because it is easier to create sprites and then export them. Another designer, Gesonrey, prefers to work in illustrator. I hope that helps.

Hi Jesse. yes, I did. I got a few more removed, but the problem just keeps growing. The one you pointed out really bothers me as it uses words I though up in my head - and not a concept or idea. It’s just plaigiarism.
