I saw AJ Tracey on his own outside the underground station in 2016, around the time he was coming up doing grime and EPs. We clocked each other and I said “keep doing ur thing man” and he put out his hand, shook it whilst looking me in the eye and said thank you. Nothing major, but he was humble and genuine. That whole assumption of not being a nice person when you're shining is basically the tall poppy syndrome in the UK. Same as here in Australia. The cultures are extremely reserved by nature. That's why most celebrities who hit it big from the UK or Australia eventually move to the US. Great interview. This dude's got that Midas touch love a lot of his stuff.
