Hi Darren, yep perfect for canals, I’m not catching particularly big fish so that rod covers all the bases.

Great to see you catching, its not easy at times but you seem to make it look easy. I dont agree with the fish handling but im old school. Nice little cork handled rod,what make is it?

Hi thank you, and thanks to GN for the assist! Nice little rods, not particularly expensive either. I have plenty of sessions which don’t make the cut so I’m definitely not catching all the time 😁

Can’t make out your leader are you on fluro tied directly to jig or using a snap ?

Hi, I’m using single wire titanium, 8lb with this set up. Easy to make them and not particularly expensive. Ive landed double figure fish on them and it doesn’t seem to put the perch off, even in clear water.

Tied directly to braid and Jighead? If so can I ask what knots etc thanks lee
@reellures277010 ай бұрын
No, I make them the same way you would for a big Pike trace. I use tiny crimps and a micro swivel, I also use a fly fishing lure clip. I do the same for my flouro leaders as well, small lure clip and a micro swivel. Mainly because i hate tying flouro to braid knots 🙂

Thanks I have some 11 Afw to try so just to clarify no fluro between wire and braid ,wire trace about 10” do ?

Yep, trace to braid. I don’t tend to make the traces that long, maybe 6-7”. It depends on the lure size, if you want to throw really light lures a shorter trace helps as it keeps the lure closer to the tip of rod when you’re casting. That said casting anything over 3 grams should be fine.
