I really love that this tour actually starts with a close-up of colocasias! And that jubeia is of course amazing. Been following this transformation, what a sucess! Thank you for pointing out how fast/slow some plants grow . Tags on plants often talk about the final size, but it's extremely hard to find anything about the growth rate. Probably because it is highly variable, but it's extremely useful to know!

Thanks for a great tour. I'm looking to start a desert garden in Suffolk so it's good to get some ideas for suitable species. Sometimes I wonder if I'm on a fool's errand so it's a great encouragement to see that you've had success in the Yorkshire climate.

It’s so cool to see you growing southwest natives, and other arid climate plants in the UK. I see these plants everyday here in the Southwest U.S. But you would never guess you could get away with them there. All of your specimens look surprisingly healthy, and some of them even looking as healthy as agaves and yuccas here in their native land. Thanks so much for sharing Kris!

I potted a bunch of Americana agave this summer and they got huge, some I will put in garage if it freezes and some I will experiment with outside, North Florida can really surprise you with the freezes, so it's always a gamble.

Great to see the tour. The large linearis is a highlight for me. Beautiful colour to it. The aloe polyphilla is a great plant, doesn't do well for me here but a cool addition to your arid area👍

@@YorkshireKRIS that's okay Kris, I'm in no rush and I know this is a busy time. We have just dug up our biggest ensete today, all the videos on overwintering I've seen and none say don't step back put your foot in the hole and fall on your backside while carrying it! Anytime is good mate.

Have you ever grown a yucca st Peter palm .just grown from seed hardy or not read mixed reviews .your gravel garden is just what I want to achieve for my husbands beach garden

I haven't grown one but I know they grow quickly. I'm wary of their hardiness though.

As long as its not salty from a beach then any gravel should be fine. Avoid limestone though

Is that the Jubae you planted in a raised bed several years ago? Is it as hardy as the Chamerops?
