In terms of the variety of visuals, music and characters within the openings, each part (season) is set in a different time period across multiple settings (such as 1880s england and 2001 italy) with separate casts of characters The linking theme is each protagonist being from the joestar family lineage funnily enough with each having the nickname jojo :)

@@joelyjamz It's one of my favorite stories. It's up there with Elric, which is saying a lot. Generational revenge is a cool concept, and some of the arcs go into things like "What if the one you're supposed to hate is also maybe your dad/uncle"

If you do end up checking out the endings, then I feel it a good point to mention that the endings were not created for this series, but were rather preexisting songs that ended up getting used by the anime. I believe it is meant to show Araki’s, the creator of JoJo’s, love for various music, with many of his characters are named after bands, musicians, and songs and in some cases even based on them (such as Killer Queen)

Funny that you mention Street Fighter vibes, Guiles design was HEAVILY inspired from a character from Part 2 of Jojos named Stroheim. And Paul Phoenix from Tekken was inspired from a Part 3 Jojos character named Polnareff

A variant opening is mostly to show something that changed in the anime, for exemple the first variant you saw was the villain appeared in the episode before so now they show who he was fighting, second variant was one of the boys getting a power for himself, etc
