Without giving away too many spoilers, the series is about a family called Joestar, and everyone’s nickname is JoJo. There’s a certain continuity between the parts, but they are more or less self-contained stories that stand on their own, even if you haven't seen all the other parts.

@Manamyte Yeah, basically, but in comparison to One Piece, for example, which has many arcs set in various environments with a clear overarching goal, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure lacks that kind of central objective. Instead, it consists of self-contained stories in each part. While some characters are related by blood or motivation to characters from previous parts, there isn’t a clear goal that we’re working towards.

It's a generational story that follows the joestar family. Each part has a different protagonist and setting. The robots are called Stands, they're a manifestation of a person's soul, and each have a different ability they don't show up until part 3. You should watch it from the very beginning, It's a strange but badass story, and those changes in the openings are rewarding when you have context because they're plot relevant. In short it's a story about vampires, curses, murder mysteries, gangsters, prison escapes and above all else, fate.

To help understand: First opening's protag is the grandfather of the second season's protag, and it gets more convoluted as it goes for bloodline relations. And 'Jojo' is a common nickname for the family members' protagonists. The rest, you'll discover as you go.^^

The word "ora" is just a shout and has no specific meaning as a word. However, in terms of atmosphere, it is often used by the overwhelmingly stronger side during a fight to put pressure on the opponent, as if saying, "How about it? Can you understand my strength?" with an air of superiority. Also, what you are referring to as a robot might be easier to understand if you think of it as something like a physical manifestation of psychic abilities. In the story, it is called a "Stand."

Jojo's is considered a masterpiece, I truly recommend to you, maybe to react on the channel. The manga started in 1987, it's divided in 9 parts, it's still ongoing during these days and it's the 9th longest manga ever. It has influenced (and has influences from) any kind of pop culture, like real songs and bands, movies, fashion world, real events, ecc... Araki (the mangaka) has done many collaboration with famous brand like Gucci, Balenciaga, Mercedes, other fashion brands and his works were exposed at the Louvre due to his amazing art style that is so recognizable and unique. The anime started in 2012 and ended in 2021 and for now it covers 6 of 9 parts. Basically it's the bizzarre story of the descendants of the Joestar family, which are all called with the nickname JoJo, each one the main character for each part. Every part is unique from the other but ofc they are all connected. Also the power systems and characters influenced so many other mangas and anime, like basically most of the battle shonen that uses some time of power (one piece, naruto, jjk, db, bleach, ecc). The whole jojo manga is even longer than one piece and jojo part 7 is rated the second best manga of all time on my anime list. Truly recommended!
