Shruti Sharma talks about her popularity as ‘Saima’ in Heeramandi, her journey to working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and much more. UK’s first interview with Filme Shilmy.
Bhansali's digital debut is a fictional series on Netflix set against the Indian independence movement against the British Raj in the 1940s. It revolves around the tawaifs living in the red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore (current day, Pakistan). The scheming Mallikajaan (Manisha Koirala) rules over an elite house of courtesans - but a new rival threatens her reign as rebellion brews in British-ruled India. Principal actors also include Sanjeeda Shaikh and Sonakshi Sinha. Also actors Taha Shah Badussha, Adhyayan Suman, Shekhar Suman and Fardeen Khan.
Shruti is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi television. She started her career as a contestant on the reality show India's Next Superstars in 2018 and then made her acting debut on television in 2019 with Gathbandhan where she played IPS Dhanak Parekh.[1] Sharma made her film debut with the Telugu film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya (2019) and made her Hindi film debut with Pagglait (2021). She also played the dual role of Kahani Verma and Satya Singh Verma in the TV show, Namak Issk Ka.
