She was originally meant to be a contender on the show, but the producer Nigel Lythgoe and the other Gladiators were blown away by her at the auditions they asked her to be a Gladiator.

Though Jet was a gymnast, women's gymnastics involves balance and grace. For example, the balance beam; 4 inches wide and 11 feet long and asymmetric bars. Hang tough involved holding your weight on your arms then moving from ring to ring, allowing Jet to catch her opponent and then pull her from rings. Hang tough was harder for females because they have less upper body strength than men.

As a man I struggle so badly on monkey bars and chin-ups. Every time I try to do more than three I strain my shoulders. Can do 50 or 60 push ups in one go fine most days but holding myself up, it’s embarrassing how badly I do on the bars haha.

@@STEJTHEGREATEST, she obviously had to work hard to reach that level and not get left behind, but she got in on her looks that's obvious. She was striking though.

@@KeepinItOneHunnnid If you've seen the Gladiator tryouts, you'll see that just about every woman there was physically fit and facially attractive. In other words, it wasn't just a bunch of overwatch trolls scoffing chips from maccies that Jet was competing with there. There's also video footage out there which states that she outpointed, pretty much every other woman there during the tryouts. I'll admit that in some of the tryout footage, scorpio seemed to be outperforming her in regards to the rope climbing and the bunny hopping, but I've also heard that Jet very quickly got injured during the early runnings of the tryouts, so that might've had something to do with it. Not that I'm trying to take anything away from scorpio's obviously extraordinary fitness.
