Glen says "Neighbours" five times on 'five'. Glen also said Neighbours on Uk Gold. Glen did not say "Neighbours" on Mgm/Challenge

Interesting that "In Loving Memory" was part of the daytime schedule at this point. Between March and June 1998 it was being shown on Saturday mornings in the slot before the Neighbours omnibus edition. That slot had previously been used to show 'Big Deal' so is it possible 'In Loving Memory' was moved from its weekday slot to one on Saturday morning once UK Gold finished with 'Big Deal' in March 1998?

Hi. I have a handful of Neighbours episodes recorded from UK Gold in August/September 1997 and the one shown on this day was one of them. For anybody interested, the episode shown on that day was Bouncer's dream.

@steviegTVreturns Thanks for your response. Interesting to hear it got shown on the CBBC Channel. I'm sure I read somewhere that the original master tapes of Rentaghost got erased by the BBC and only the UK Gold copies still exist. I've never really been too sure about how the UK Gold rebrand affected the programmes shown. Would this have been the point where the endless reruns of OFAH and Fawlty Towers began?

@steviegTVreturns Thanks for explaining. I thought the older thames programming got removed from the point of the rebrand. At least they had the sense to keep Neighbours and The Bill on the schedule. UK Gold must have been way better back then. I'm sure that it was much more exciting to see OFAH on the channel back then. In my opinion nowadays its one of those programmes that is just there.

Hi Meanmanmartin2007, Sorry I don't remember when 'Rentaghost' got dropped from UK Gold's schedules but I do remember it being shown on Saturday mornings back then as well along with old 70s editions of both 'Blue Peter', 'Record Breakers' (with the late great Roy Castle) and 'We Are The Champions' with Ron Pickering I can also confirm that it was not the last time 'Rentaghost' would be screened here in the UK as it was also regularly shown on BBC1 every Saturday morning in the early 00s on 'Dick and Dom In Da Bungelow' '. That would be very last time it would be seen here in the UK and i must admit that 'Rentaghost' was one of my favourite old children's programmes along with many others. There is a few episodes of 'Rentaghost' posted on KZbin but not many when you consider the program was running for 8 years no less from 1977-1984. The first and only ever official release of 'Rentaghost' (series 1) was released on DVD by 'Network', however shortly after it's release it was subsequently blocked from one of the actors on the program who did not want to be associated with it but i've never been able to this day to find out who it was. Old copies of the DVD by 'Network' regularly sell on eBay for high prices as it's now a rare dvd. Hopefully one day it will get an official DVD/Bluray box set release of the complete series collection.

Back in the day when it had proper contunity not that annoying scot that says the same thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER again on the closing titles. Like MTV and Sky One it's just dying on screen. God only knows how they can show the same crap for 30 years
