For the Life in the UK test you MUST buy a book called Life in the UK to prepare well. Without the book it would be extremely hard as some questions are not about your experience from living here but about things like parliament, elections etc

You can decided to switch to any visa of your choice is not mandatory you must get ILR after 5years

You can not switch to just any type of visa. Once you are eligible, you either apply for ILR or FLR, which is further leave to remain in the UK. You can't apply to extend tier 1 or 3 after 5 years.

@@500BHP​​⁠this is not correct. You can decide to extend ur skilled worker visa as long as ur company is willing to continue sponsoring you. Even other visa categories. Is ur choice to make.

@blessedblessingchannel you are right. If you ain't ready for ILR you can aswell get COS from either your current company or switch until when you are ready to apply for your ILR. It's a personal decision.
