i have just acquired in the last couple of months 7 bitterling, its amazing how fast they destroyed a fully planted aquascape. They love raw peas lol

I googled British native aquarium and found this video. I used to keep the usual common fresh water tropical fish, but asked myself the question if this was really the best thing. We have plenty of native species.

Great thing your doing Gaz I wish more people would try native fish and like you get from farms not wild I had minnows, gudgeon, bullheads and lots more from the wild but that's was as a kid in 70s when there was no laws. Best setup was with 10 three- spined stickleback 4 males and six females at breeding time the way the male make a nest and looks after the fry is just as good as any cichlids or other fish. Keep up great work your getting a new sub

came off a fish farm i used to work on ,, its actually a protected species and not allowed to take from wild but i was covered as coarse fish farm

Cool, ive been a fishermen for many years and have not heard of them before.. are they river fish? no probs I also have a channel although the only thing on it that might interest you is my cherry shrimp...unless you like all uk wildlife..) @@gazgonenative4696

@@stevencharter1803 iwill besubbing to you in a min im also aangler uk fish farmer ,, my uncle got me into fishing many years ago , sadly he dead , as aangler you may of read his book his name iswas tony miles , rip ... i sub now ,, your find bitterling mainly from midlands up in uk , but check out jack perks on here he has done some great vids on them
