Cold house is much worse if youre old and cant generate heat by moving around constantly. It doesnt matter how many blankets you have, youre inhaling the cold air and youre being frozen from the inside . I was 25 when I lived in a house that never got warm in winters, its miserable . Like the woman in this video, I too would stay in bed till lunch if I was off work. Id be careful not to drink in the evening so I didnt have to get up in the cold to go to the loo...it would take an hour each time to warm back up enough to be able to sleep, with a hot water bottle.
