UK PROTEST BLACK LIVES MATTER - 6 June 2020

SWANSEA UK BLACK LIVES MATTER PROTEST on 6 June 2020. It was really important for me to don a mask and be present. These are critical times for all of us and we need to do what we can for human rights and equality. It also caused me to reflect on my own experience growing up in the USA in the 1960's. We are the sum of all our parts.

So nice of you to join the fight. We went to the protest in our neighborhood and were lucky that it was peaceful and positive. It is indeed very positive for kids to understand what's going on and somehow be involved. It's crazy that we're still fighting the same fight. I really enjoyed those old clips. We have to listen and care... That's so true.

Yes! For the most part, the Welsh are a pretty civilised bunch. Also - mainly students from all kinds of backgrounds. I was really proud I could be a small part of it xx

Hey you two!!! Always so lovely to hear from you. It was definitely a peaceful protest. I was actually born in Canada but moved to New York so young, I don't remember anything before living there. Moved back to Canada when I was in highschool. Doing very well. Still under lockdown with a 5 mile drive restriction and just a few open shops. England is far more open than we are. I think about you guys all the time. Hope you are doing ok x

Nothing more fascinating than some old codger saying, “well, back in my day ...”. 😂. We moved back to Canada when I was 12 so my formative years were lived as a Yankee 🇺🇸. My mother was the director of the first Head Start and my father was the local preacher. In a place where cows outnumbered people about 100 to 1. Very different to my life now ...

Unfortunatly, too many people are going along with others, just because it is the "in" thing to do at the moment and because it matters to them.
