My Wife, Sister, Brother in law & myself have been working hard all weekend to decorate Mum & Dads spare room where the hospital bed will be whilst she recovers at home. We can’t wait to see her face, bless her heart!! 💖 We’re all so excited to have her back home where she belongs & really hope she can have the operation to remove her brain tumour really soon 💖🙏🤞 I’d swap places with her in a heartbeat if I could!! Years ago when I was an apprentice (and that was more years than I like to think about) thats how I kept my cars on the road. The old breakers yards always had the spares I needed, it might have taken a while to find the parts, that depended on how much the part you needed was in demand. There was nothing like the climb up a stack of dead cars only to find someone had beaten you to the part you needed. Oh a little tip always disconnect the earth cable from the battery first and reconnect last. It saves that spanner welding itself to the bodywork when you slip on the positive connection. Don't ask how I know!
@UrbanVanlife10 күн бұрын
Nice bit of advice there thank you, Neil also remembers when you could go and help yourself in a scrap yard pre health and safety 😂😂

3:32 careful tilting batteries, you'll probably get away with that direction but tilt it on end & the acid goes to that end & you get dry plates which you probably won't notice for months by which time your battery is unrecoverable 😢

3:00 on the Amazon page there's quite a few reviews saying about a flat battery that won't recharge, have you had to send yours back? Do you always charge it after use? What's the longest you've left it?
@UrbanVanlife10 күн бұрын
Ours is around 2 years old, we have had no issues whatsoever with it, we only charge it when we need to, but in the whole time we have had it it has never let us down and it gets used constantly

No warning light came on so we think it will be okay but definitely something for Will to check!
@alanhat525210 күн бұрын
Look it up but it's probably supposed to be 14.2V to 14.4V, whatever it is must be the same on the battery & on the alternator, if not there's a wiring fault, commonly a chassis earth gone rusty.
