Thank you Francis. Amazing these songs are now 35 years old. Interesting parallel with then and now - a March Easter and a cooler spring month than winter month. Unusual for a French language song in the charts with Jacky Quartz. I'm surprised 'End of the Line' wasn't a big hit as it's very known. Adult Net sounds like a name for a late 90s adult site! 😂Shame Sandra is very unknown here. Always shocks me us Brits never appreciated her. Some classics in here, known and lesser known. What I like, all genres being represented and this was a good time for rock music. 'Let The River Run' was used in one of my favourite American Dad episodes. My top favourites are a classic from my favourite group all of time Guns N Roses with 'Paradise City'. 'Appetite For Destruction' is a classic album and one of the best ever. A true stadium rock classic and I love Axl and Slash to bits. Madonna's classic 'Like A Prayer' which furthered her into Pop God status. Vanessa Williams underrated love ballad 'Dreamin' which should have been a huge hit here yet big statewide. Metallica's metal classic 'One' which pushed them into the big time. White Lion's emotional rock ballad 'When The Children Cry'. Throw in I also like the songs from Poison, Bon Jovi, The Travelling Wilburys, Roy Orbison, Cyndi's excellent cover of 'Drove All Night', Stevie Nicks, Soul To Soul, Kylie Minogue, Holly Johnson, Transition Vamp, TPau, Coldcut, Roxette, Simply Red, The Pixies (I remember hearing this song at an event of an ex's friend 20 yrs ago), Natalie Cole, Carly Simon and Sandra.

"Electric Youth" was my JAM. 😂😂 Such an underrated gem - as is Debbie Gibson, for that matter.

how the UK went out of their way to poorly promote Sandra's music in their country for a few different reasons but top their charts with "Sadness Part 1" in 1991 when she was the main female voice of the 90'S new age band Enigma

Yeah, shame for the britains.Sandra has no solo hit in UK top 40(best-#45 for the cover 'Everlasting Love")Even her best hit "Maria Magdalena'-#1 in whole Europe,skips top75 in UK.
@alistairrodgerfairbrother24799 ай бұрын
@@MIROSLAV-cg7py when she broke out with Maria madelina she was the German answer to Madonna but the UK press though it was strange due to her ill never be Maria Madeleine and if you translate Maria maddalena epic comes the name Madonna so the UK went out of their was to poorly promote her music and her being from German they already had promoted NENA in 1983 or 1984 with 99 red balloons the UK public were still a bit of anti-german because of WW2

Probably they didn’t want any competition from Europe for their local Stock Aitken Waterman productions. They also didn’t promote Debbie Gibson or Tiffany from US that much.

@@alistairrodgerfairbrother2479Kraftwerk and Nicole reached #1 in 1982 and Nena was #1 in 1984, Trio #2 in 1982, so I don’t think the British public didn’t like German artists. Could it be Sandra’s music just didn’t appeal here?
