7:34 this was the most unexpected collaboration possible. But damn late 90s Brits loved their dance music.

1999 - at that time when these songs came out, I moved up into Year 10 at secondary school and focused on mates instead of studying. At that point I realised who I was too (yet I was a total lads lad then..still am now). Thank you so much for this video. I wish it was still this time, still an excellent time machine. I can't stand that Eiffel 65 song, but prefer that version to the Guetta / Bebe Rehxa one. That was an awful cover by Sheryl Crow of a rock classic. One of Gomez ran for parliament this year. Think he stood in the seat my party chair also ran in. I don't think he got in. Ben Adams never ages doesn't he? Ditto Enrique. Both still hot now. Can tell a lot of these were post-summer hits. LFO a tragic story as two of the three members passed away. Thunderbugs - excellent two-hit wonder. Always thought Macy Gray was Marge Simpson! She is a talented artist, but that song isn't that true of her talents in my mind. I bet R Kelly wishes he did! Horrible man he is. One thing you can say, there was diversity in the charts then. Everyone got a chance, unlike now. A lot of good songs here. My favourites are the excellent pop gem "Genie In A Bottle" by Christina Aguilera (my #1 here). Still sounds rather fresh even today. Shame she never got the attention. Kelle Bryan's excellent and underrated gospel tinged "Higher Than Heaven". One of Britney's best pop songs in "Crazy". Enrqiue's sexy latino song "Baliamos". A fanatstic underrated cover version by Martay of a ZZ Top classic. That should have been a Top 5 hit. The forgotten pop-rock gem "Friends Forever" by Thunderbugs. Vengaboy's summer holiday classic (did they spend the animation budget on the Brazillian woman's assets). Foo Fighter's "Learning To Fly" (hilarious video btw), a hidden gem by the late legend Tina Turner. Catchy song. Westlife's classic "Flying Without Wings". Mariah's brillant "Heartbreaker" and speaking of legend singers, that was a brilliant dance track from Diana Ross.

A local radio from south Italy called radio norba used to play everything my heart desires every now and then. I was totally shocked every time I heard it on the radio because it was an absolutely random thing (but I was super glad about it I cos loved his songs)

Gotta feel sorry for Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, most chart entries without ever reaching the top 40. Great band they were. I like Gomez, "Moving" by Supergrass is one of the best songs they've ever done, good ones by James, The Charlatans. The Buffalo Tom cover of "Going Underground" didn't get as much airplay - that airplay went to the flip side which was Liam Gallagher and Steve Cradock's cover of "Carnation". It was a strange time for guitar bands back then I thought, especially with all the Europop and manufactured pop that was around at the time. Westlife epitomised that era for me for all the wrong reasons, because I was in a placement at college back then surrounded by these girls who were obsessed with that boyband and they were hyping them through the bloody roof! Back then I thought "5 Val Doonicans sitting on bar stools"

B*Witched, steps, boy bands, cliched ibiza dance, divas just exercising their tonsels and even the great names having auto-genned sounding songs. Exactly how I remember late 99, note the best. But great working putting the vid together

Yeah... I think this chart demonstrates why I'm not keen on 1999, particularly the back end, and it's my worst year of the decade. So many cheesy pop songs, boy bands and bad cover versions. You can see the last embers of Britpop dying out too. Some great dance tunes though. You can tell we are heading into peak trance period.
