To be fair, the "fizzy drink" thing varies in the UK too. In the south that's the term generally used, but in the north of England "pop" is more commonly used, and I believe if you go up to Scotland, they also just use the generic term "coke" for all fizzy drinks, but correct me if I'm wrong there. The only term I've never heard used in the UK is "soda" as that's more specifically for soda water itself, like you can ask for a "lime and soda" in a pub and you'll get a soda water with a shot of lime cordial.

@doddy06903 жыл бұрын
But it’s not made of silver
@MuljoStpho3 жыл бұрын
You'd likely have to look in an antique shop for a set that's real silver, sure. The modern stuff is just whatever other metal it is and they coat it to look like silver. But yeah, here in the US the distinction between silverware versus utensils is metal versus plastic. Washable versus disposable. (Okay, you could wash the plastic stuff too if you wanted. But typically here plastic is treated as disposable.) You'd typically have the metal stuff in your house but if you're picking up take-out from a restaurant and want to avoid having to wash any dishes you'd get the plastic stuff from them. Also, we have the word cutlery as well but it doesn't usually refer to things like forks or spoons. Cutlery is used to refer to knives.
