Still have the original vinyl compelation (The Demonstration Tapes; bought @ Sam Goody) where I first heard this song. The slight chill the bassline bridges initially sent up my spine are still there as well. Many thanks for posting this as I now have insight to the origin of its performance.

That may be true for that festival but check out "UK SUBS CLASSIC LINE UP" on youtube, Middlesbrough gig Dec. '07 and "Time and Matter" website for the gigs around that period: Harper, Garratt, Slack and Davies are all there.

A not very interesting piece of trivia I know, but my mate Mike went to work for the Guardian in their IT section in the late 80s, only to find himself working alongside Paul Slack (the vocalist on this song). I can't recall him doing the vocals on any other songs of theirs, it's usually Charlie Harper.

The only two from the original line-up who preformed in 2007, were Charlie and Paul. They played the Wickerman fectival in 2007 and in all honesty, Paul was not enjoying it. As you say, they are a super live band and I've lost count of the times I have seen them.
